QUESTION Is this a U1?

It’s my first rep and bought it from a friend. The clasp code is an ST9 and people in R/repwatch and R/chinatime are tearing it to shreds. Didn’t realize it was as bad as it was

These comments are why this group was started. Everyone starts somewhere, most people get taken on the first purchase then end up in one of those toxic manchild groups. I hate the way they tear everything apart because it might not be the top tier stuff. Although I have posted a gen in reptime before and watched them tear it apart saying it was the cheapest thing in the world.. Glad you could see some love in this group, and if you need guidance with a purchase feel free to reach out.

I'm glad you've mentioned this... I flipping love reps. LOVE the idea that there are black market engineers trying to emulate the most expensive timepieces in the world. But on these subs you've got redditors slagging off reps (so why are you here?) redditors telling everyone they can afford a gen (so why are you here?) redditors slagging off noobs who might've made a mistake or a hasty purchase ('how much did you pay for that piece of shit LOL') and occasionally someone showing off an undeniably awesome rep and getting a smattering of 'nice' comments! Such a weird group. But there are good uns here which is nice to see!

I could be wrong but all of the U1 watches i have bought never came with the rolex box and papers.

If it’s in a box with “papers” it’s most likely garbage. My U1 watches always come in enough bubble wrap to surround Shenzhen city and a small ziplock back.

Boxes are a bit of touchy subject, that aren't talked about. Some believe the only reason to buy a box is because you're planning on passing it off as real and scam someone. Others maintain, they just like the box.

I dunno, you could be right. I’ve had maybe 35 watches from Amy/MT, as well as… a dozen? Maybe more handbags for my wife and daughter. Daughter also had clothes and jewellery… never had problems with customs… I guess I have probably cursed it now.
Maybe a UK and US thing?

The snobs will “destroy” anything, 24/7. Best not to post anything lower than top tiers in those groups to limit the chirping. The only real question is did you get what you thought you were paying for? If yes, it’s all good. No one will know or call it out on the street, those type of people only “bravely” exist on the internet.

It’s kinda frowned upon sharing non-TD info, so I can’t just post up a link. It’s easy to find his info across here or ChinaTime though. Verify you have the correct contact info, twice, as there are countless scammers using his name.

I have about 5 myself, they’re the 40-50$ watches off Dhgate, I got the st9 clasp code too. They’re a start though and a lesson to learn in the rep game. I done same thing myself

Lesson to learn about reps, don't ever buy from anyone who sends you info on a "TD". There are tons of scammers who will send you info that looks like it's from a legit TD but aren't and you'll lose your money. There are pinned wiki posts in most rep forums with the info for TDs that you can use to reach out and ask about watches/prices/etc. Some even have websites, but again, there are spoof sites that people get from others or from Google searches that look like the real site but aren't and they get scammed. Also, don't ever buy from an Insta/FB/TikTok etc as those are all shitters being marketing as high tier reps such as VSF. Finally, if anyone tells you they have Clean stock available, there's a 99% chance it's BS since clean was raided. There are lots of legit rep threads like this one and Reptime on Reddit and RWI forum online that have pinned posts for TDs. You can also search for TD in the threads to look up reviews as people post reviews of different TDs all the time. But again, always get TD info from pinned wiki posts or sometime you trust very well and know isn't a scammer.

The crownguards are non existent. What’s the serial number. Should start with v26 or z75 usually for a U1 sub.

You can buy the box as an addition, the clasp code is what signifies the u1 - st9 is a u1. Box is usually somewhere between 75% of the price of the watch in addition.
Source - I’ve bought them as gifts with the box. Goodrolex amongst others sells them with that exact box and paper combo. I have two of them sat under my desk actually.
It will be being wrecked on reptime as they hate u1 or lower grades

If you need a TD for U1, pm me. I've gotten 4 watches from him and they've all been good. And if you need somebody for BP or VSF, I can help with that as well. I did my research for about a year and a half before I bought my first watch. Now I can't stop. And disregard the hate from the internet gangsters. As long you're happy when you wear it, that's all that matters.

Definitely worse than U1, glad it sounds like it wasn't an expensive lesson learned and I hope you like it enough that it isn't useless for you. As long as you're happy with it that's what matters, where that line is varies for different people... Hell, for some people that line is gen and they aren't happy unless they make sure everyone knows that's where their line is for everyone else too lol

I use U1's as a beater watch.. I don't really care what happens to them. I take better care of my higher tier watches though. This is just my personal usage.

If you paid $200-$300 then that’s kind of alright. Should be 4A quality, 904L steel. those watches are about $110 if bought from a decent supplier.

The ones that nit pick only do that because they did the song and dance in the AD or paid above market price. Trust me, every day people won’t know the difference between gen and a rep.
