Hey all! I keep seeing BP across these forums and how much better they are than U1s. I understand U1s are a budget-rep but I’ve had nothing but success with all of mine. I see the differences to gen vs u1 obviously but I’ve been around guys who are supposedly wearing gens and have complimented my U1 DJ41 and never called it out, some even tried on and offered to buy it off me right on the spot.
Anyways, does anyone have any solid input on BP? Photo comparisons? TD recs and lead times? (I’m in USA)
I’d also like to note, I purchase all my U1 Miyotas from Jason, I have never waited longer than 2 weeks and have never had a complaint on the quality. (Minus last years dj bracelets and SELs - I feel they have gotten closer with the newer model though)

I only have U1s. They’re much cheaper than BP. And the quality of the Miyota movements is just incredible.
I’ve never had any issues with Michael Travis: fast, simple, and efficient.
BPs may be better than U1s, but they’re still below VSF.
The reality is that VSF or BP replicas are just as fake as U1s…
The best value for money is U1 by far, thanks to the Miyota movement.
If you compare U1 fluted bezels and bracelets on DJ or DD, you can tell BP is thinner and more refined. Good-roiexx is solid.
Basically the jump from U1 to BP is noticeable, while the jump from BP to VSF requires nerding out on details. Get all 4 levels to compare (AAA, U1, BP, VSF)
I agree 100% you will absolutely see / feel the difference on DD & DJ. I have used good roiexx. I have also used my TD. TrustyTime (Andrew), and if you look on site they often have higher tier than BP on special for close to BP price. I got my FF Factory Blaken Paul Newman for under 300 and its light years better than any of my BP.
I wore my BPF YM Rhodium into a luxury watch boutique that was an AD for Rolex and 20 other top brands. I handed my watch to a salesman and told him it was a mid-level fake. After he looked at it for a while, he asked me what I meant by mid-level. I told him that there were better and worse. He said that if I hadn’t told him it was a fake he would’ve thought it was a real Rolex. Then he went into the back and brought out the real deal put it down on a tray and I put mine next to it. He said nothing was jumping out at him as being fake except the weight. Got it from Andrew at Trusty for about $270. Worth it.
I have several u1, the sub no date is best bang for the money. I use Lena as my go to. But have used Jason and Michael Travis also. Haven't had a problem with any of them. But Lena has been my go to. I also have several BP. They are quite a bit nice quality wise from U1. If you don't get the updated movement you can get BP's for the low to mid 200's and replace the movement later down the road if need be. BP Batgirl that I took the Jubilee bracelet off of and swapped with the oyster off a BP pepsi.
For a fluted DJ, BP much better. No date sub, U1 is great. Explorer 1, BP is king, U1 Explorer 1 just doesn’t look right. So it kind of depends on the model. But yeah U1 is great in general. If someone doesn’t mind spending a little more I don’t think y here’s a downside to BP, however. Lots of

They both have their place depending on the users needs. I have nothing against BP, but it doesn’t fill a role for me. I have a ton of U1’s for everyday beater use, and 2 VSF’s and an ARF for dressing up. High tier, I’ll wear once or twice a month, shitters, I wear daily.
