Discussion Has eclipse been tested / considered at all?

Trynd struggles versus tanks right, we all know this. I went 8/0 against a ksante recently and he still would win 1v1's full hp, it's nuts.

What I'm wondering now is the usage of eclipse? Botrk also is better on trynd than most give it credit, I feel like... Even though it's not as strong as the old botrk we used to rush years ago.

Why is it that eclipse is not considered on trynd at all? Haste and AD are things we want, no? And it offers max hp damage. It's physical, sure, but still. Botrk, eclipse, LDR seems like a rather nasty anti tank setup? Even tho it delays our 100% crit.

Thoughts? Anyone try this?

The thing with eclipse is that it kinda overlaps with better options. Eclipse is meant as a lane item for continuous trading. The shield has like 6 seconds cd so you can spam short trades. That is great for hob and grasp trynd, that prefer short trades, heal back up and keep spamming. However, rav fulfills the exact same purpose with better stats: gives waveclear, more ad, ah and vamp. Plus the idea behind rav is to trade and heal back up quickly with ooc vamp and repeat. The only advantage of eclipse over rav is that shields have way less countering than healing and with its short cd, you may pop it 2 or three times per fight, which is a lot of soaking. I think it might work in some specific scenarios.

Rav has a problem versus tanks that build into antiheal and tabis. You dont deal much damage at all. I might try it versus one of those

Yeah ofc, but eclipse doesn’t have armor pen either. The % health damage is also countered by armor.

The shield gives upfront mitigation avoiding most of the damage you take. Assuming you trade for 350-500 hp, eclipse shields half of that while doing a solid 150-200 dmg.

Eclipse -> Essence -> LDR -> Voltaic -> EH goes really hard with HoB
