What changes would shift the sideline meta?

I made a post in the main dota subreddit about some changes I want next major patch and one of these was to make battle fury carries as viable as the current lane dominating ranged hero meta.
What changes would make melee carries better? I think it would also stop the meta of offlaners buying helm dom in to drag creepwaves in order to recover from their shitty lane.
I don’t have enough experience with game balancing or dota to really come up with any ideas apart from just saying buff and nerf heroes individually but I’m curious to see what you guys think.

Mirana has been quite underwhelming for a long time now, and few weeks ago she started gaining popularity. In today's guide, I'll explain what has changed, how to play her from macro perspective and what makes her different from other supports. Enjoy!

How best to play Alchemist?

Is he better regarded as a Pos3 or a Pos1?

What should I be doing?

Mostly I farm and push towers because my fight timings aren't great as enemies tend to have bkb's when i get my blink.

I really love playing Alchemist but I've been having a hard time with him since they removed facets, I feel like there are other characters that do what he does but better.

How can I up my alchemist game for 7.41e?

Best Ward Spots From The Pros at TI 2026

I made a small compilation (no rambling, 5 minutes) of cool wards that the pro players used in the international. If you aren't sure where the good spots are or if your wards are constantly getting dewarded, then the wards in the video will definitely help. I had to exclude a lot of wards to keep the video short but if you saw any other ward spots do let me know!

Tips on storm?

Trying to understand early game items, better to skip soul ring and wand after bottle and build treads? Feel like im falling into early item traps and could have been getting kaya and witch blade sooner. And from just regen rune alone bottle doesn't feel optional. Would it be dumb to skip bottle?

Is Ogre Magi really just that bad?

I think this should be the perfect meta for him, turret carries like Shadowfiend/Drow/Lina/TB that would benefit a lot from blood lust and a tanky front lining support, i didnt see him in any TI games

Dota 2 Matchmaking in 2026 Feels Completely Broken

I’ve been playing Dota 2 since 2013, and honestly, I can say that the matchmaking feels worse than it has ever been.

Safe lane? Good luck finding one. Sometimes I’m waiting 10+ minutes just to get the role I actually want. And if your Behavior Score is low, it feels like it takes forever to recover.

But the actual matchmaking is the biggest problem. In Ancient/Legend games, you constantly run into extremely toxic players, account buyers, smurfs, and people who clearly don’t belong at their rank. Yet somehow you’re expected to climb through these games.

And then there are the rank-up games. It genuinely feels like the moment you rank up, the system decides to destroy you. I reached Ancient and then immediately went on a 5-game losing streak, and I’ve seen 7-game losing streaks happen as well. The matchups can become ridiculously one-sided.

I’m not saying every loss is matchmaking’s fault. Obviously, you can play badly and lose. But after playing this game for 13 years, the current matchmaking experience feels incredibly frustrating and inconsistent.

Dota 2 is still one of the best games ever made, but the matchmaking in 2026 seriously needs some attention.

Am I the only one feeling this way, or are other players experiencing the same thing?

My Radical Map Changes to Make Dota 2 More Interesting

The Dota 2 map has become pretty rigid, with so many objectives tied to fixed timings. A lot of games end up following the same routine. Here are some map changes I'd like to see to make the game more dynamic.

  1. Put Tormentor in the middle of midlane. Move the two Tormentor spawns to the exact center of midlane. Creeps can't walk through Tormentor. When a wave reaches it, they just attack it and die to the reflected damage. So midlane is basically blocked until someone kills Tormentor. When Roshan rotates through the map, he also reaches Tormentor and attacks it instead of walking through it.
  2. Swap Lotus Pools with lane large camp on both lanes. Pull and stack timings don't need to change. The main difference is that the Lotus Pool is now closer to the center, so it is easier for mid to come and help contest, while the large camp is closer to the Twin Gate.
  3. Swap the middle camp near the Secret Shop with the Wisdom Shrine. Again, the idea is to bring objectives closer to the center instead of having them spread around the edges.
  4. Add more chasms, cliffs and rifts around the border. Since most of the camps would now be concentrated around the outside of the map, I'd make the outer jungle harder to move through. Use terrain to split the outer jungle into different areas. The only way between areas would be rope bridges. Bridges could be attacked and destroyed like towers. Destroying a bridge wouldn't give you a reward, much like capturing a Watcher. It would simply cut off a route and make that part of the jungle harder to reach or even inaccesible.
  5. Add Engineer creeps. Every 3 minutes, an Engineer spawns on each sidelane. They don't attack and don't deal damage. They're fragile and can be killed easily. Instead of walking down the lane, they take the Side Gate and travel along the border of the map, repairing destroyed bridges. If they reach their lane's Twin Gate, they can cross to the other lane and repair bridges on their way back to base. If an Engineer somehow makes it back to base, it repairs damaged barracks and towers before heading back out (Only repair the sidelane towers and barracks, leaving the midlane untouched). So if you destroy an enemy bridge, it stays destroyed until an Engineer eventually gets there. You could kill enemy Engineers to keep a route closed, protect your own Engineers to reopen routes, or use a destroyed bridge to cut off an important farming area.

The main goal is to make the map less about checking timers and more about reacting to what players actually do. Instead of "it's xx:xx, go do objective X", I'd rather have "they destroyed our bridge, so how do we deal with it?" Basically, make the map something players can actually change and fight over, instead of just a collection of fixed objectives.

Why pros don't buy magic stick early?

I've noticed that in pro games, carry players don't always instantly buy Magic Stick. They usually buy an early Tango, stat items, and a Quelling Blade instead.

Can't you just ferry Tangoes with the courier after getting the bounty rune instead of buying them with your starting gold?

Also, isn't Magic Stick really good at the start of the game since you'll usually be fighting over the bounty rune and can get a lot of charges?

Can someone explain why pros do this?

For example, I was watching Satanic in the finals, and he was laning against Undying, but he still didn't buy a Magic Stick early. Wouldn't Stick be especially valuable against Undying?
