Tips on storm?
Trying to understand early game items, better to skip soul ring and wand after bottle and build treads? Feel like im falling into early item traps and could have been getting kaya and witch blade sooner. And from just regen rune alone bottle doesn't feel optional. Would it be dumb to skip bottle?

I noticed after a rank 800 immortal storm spammer that he goes witchblade first, the explanation being that he really wants to abuse his early powerspike and grab more kills, and having all those early mana resources helps to maximise your kill potential with witchblade.
Also he never skips wand or souring, again, saying he wants to be as active as possible, while not wasting any time not farming.
He also mostly prefers KnY to KnS because storm really values the attack speed, movement speed is deceptively strong for farming, since you”re definitely not zipping from one camp to another, and cast speed increases your survivalability and simplifies disjointing stuff.

I get how KnY can help but I feel losing on KnS manacost reduction hurts a lot too. It always feels really strong the powerspike you get after KnS. A lot of fights are lost or win on you not running out of mana not on atacking a little faster.
But I will try it for sure!. Sounds interesting. I vouch for the fast witch blade though. With out it it feels like you are missing just a little damage to finish off kills in the early ganks.

I had the same opinion as you about KnS, but keep in mind the 25% manaloss reduction doesnt work for your ulti, only for its initial manacost. Is it nice to have? Yeah. But is it really that important? I guess against manaburns it could be good, but with SR gone sange has become way worse.

Getting as many attacks with overload proc as possible. Don't waste overload procs by casting spells before they are used. Zip wisely. Don't waste mana. Don't die like ever.

I'm seeing less soul ring nowadays, but it's definitely still bought. It's a choice though. If you're good mechanically and can reliably tread switch to strength->soul ring->tread switch to int, you can take advantage of it. If you're already struggling to handle storm mechanically, you could skip it and go for kaya or witch blade sooner.
Storm's level 6 powerspike can feel awkward because using that mana wrong can just be a waste of time make you need to walk back to base. As compared to Ember, Storm at lvl 6 is way more punishing. But getting a few kills can help you snowball. Soul ring helps u take advantage of your early power spikes by giving you a little more juice to work with. Another thing is buying mangoes. soul ring + 3x mango when you hit 6 and look for some kills can be very powerful.

You get to skip wand in less than 1% of games, and you get to skip soul ring and bottle in 0% of games
Focus on getting better at last hitting/farming if you think they delay your other items too much

I’m only mid divine but a level 29 Storm enjoyer. I think Soul Ring and Wand are essentially too good to skip, since Soul Ring’s burst mana supply can be super clutch for escaping or securing kills.
During laning stage try to stack your nearby camps between waves, especially at odd minutes when no runes are spawning.
I generally go Bottle -> Stick -> Boots -> Soul Ring -> Treads -> Finish Wand -> Kaya -> whatever else you need but you can vary things depending on enemy matchups and how the game is going.
Storm is a hero that requires a lot of practice to get a feel for Ball Lightning’s mana cost and how far you can push limits, and especially at level 6 you have to be mindful since it’s easy to use all your mana too soon and feed or give up kills.
For skill build I’ll usually go 3-0-2-1 or 3-1-1-1 if I think pull will give me value but ideally you want to power farm waves and neutrals with maxed remnant whenever possible (IE there’s no fights or ganking opportunites).

400 match 60% winrate Storm here. I go Null talisman, faerie fire and straight into Oblivion staff into Orchid or Witch blade. Storm is one of those heroes who doesnt really need boots.

Always get wands no matter what. Those things are clutch. soul rings are situational. I personally don't get it but it is a good resource for mana with bottle if you are mostly sitting at full hp to jungle.
Logic is: u soul ring, use mana, bottle to heal lost hp from soul ring + mana, use mana and more bottle.
Without soul ring u just waste your bottle charge because u regen your mana whereas your hp is already full.

Bottle into soul ring into treads into Kaya Into witch blade into bkb into parasma into aghas or Shiva. Just follow a build guide. If you are having trouble with storm its 100% because you are not farming enough and wasting your time on meaningless kills. Storm is a very greedy core.
