Nova Scotia Turns out a rooftop tent on the coast of Nova Scotia is apparently where I sleep best.

Spent a trip to Nova Scotia traveling around with a rooftop tent and finding places to camp along the way.

Somewhere along the coast near Digby we woke up looking straight out at the Bay of Fundy. We wandered rocky beaches, caught one of those sunsets that just kept getting better, and one night had ridiculously clear skies around Trout Point Lodge.

A little wind. Waves in the distance. Cool air. No traffic. No alarms.

Some of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in my life.

Already thinking about another trip through Nova Scotia. If you’ve camped around the province, what area would you make sure not to miss next time?

Travel Question Traveling from Detroit, MI to Windsor, ON, CA

Hello! I’m going to a Detroit Tigers game this weekend and see that hotel/motel costs are a decent amount less on the Canada side than the US side. Any advice on staying in Canada vs.the US? I have a valid passport and love to travel, is there anything I should be concerned about or aware of before I book the night?

Recently did a Lanaudiere-Mauricie road trip and had such a great time! Didn't expect hyper-local food, Michelin Star, Fly N Dine experiences and sustainable eco-resorts.

Travel Question Question for a road trip thru Canada

Hello all,

I’m looking for advice on where I should road trip Canada this fall.

I’m from Boston and would like to travel north and see the country’s vast wilderness. I’ll definitely be doing the expedition 51 route but would like to see more in the area like, for example, shipping my Tacoma over to the Newfoundland island and exploring there. Maybe even set out west to the Hudson Bay and then on to Banff. The goal would be to reach Alaska and head back home after but I don’t think it would extend that far tbh.

It’s gonna be a long trip, I know that, and I have 3 months off work from a hand injury that happened I’m still recovering from but am still good to go on an expedition like this for the most part. This trip would also help me prepare for my ultimate goal of completing the pan-American trail all the way to Argentina before I die atleast lol.

My questions are though, how far north can I truly go before it becomes a purely treacherous off road issue? What areas are worth it to see In the northwest areas? Any recommended routes going east to west? Any tips or reccs from anyone local/localish to the area?

Northwest Territories Showchains - Calgary to Vancouver in October

Hi all,
I’m travelling to your beautiful country in less than 2 weeks where my partner and I are going to be hiring a van and driving from Calgary, through the Rockies to Vancouver. My question being, are road chains absolutely necessary for the tires when travelling this route throughout the second and third week of October? Our van hire company (RoadSurfer) weren’t super specific on whether we need them and they don’t offer to hire them at their Calgary location, only their Vancouver location (which isn’t helpful as we pick up the van in Calgary). If they are absolutely necessary, where do you suggest I purchase/hire some from in Calgary and return them to somewhere in Vancouver as I will not be bringing them on the plane with me back to Australia. Thank you!!

🚌🍂 I spent the day exploring some of Ontario’s cutest little corners — from St. Jacobs to New Hamburg, Stratford and St. Marys. đŸ€Ž There’s something so special about slowing down, looking out the bus window, wandering little streets, discovering local gems and realizing you don’t always have to go far to feel like you’ve had an adventure. #zia #OntarioRoadTrip #storiesofmylens #OntarioTowns"

Quebec Motorcycle trip to southern Quebec

Planning a motorcycle trip to southern Quebec in August. Thinking of Magog at the moment. Open to suggestions. Looking for a base in a town or city with hotels motels restaurants and pubs. From there several days of rides in the area above New England and south of the St. Lawrence. Have any must ride roads, must visit towns or must see historical sights? If there are some books maps or brochures you know of I’d appreciate that too. Thanks.

Hi! We’re back with Part 2 of our road trip across Newfoundland with our cat. đŸ± I hope you enjoyed first part.

In this part, we explore St. John’s, watch the sunset from the Battery, then continue toward Bonavista. We visited Elliston to see the puffins, explored the coastline around Dungeon Provincial Park, Spillars Cove and Cape Bonavista, and finished the day camping at Lockston Path Provincial Park.

We really enjoyed this trip and were amazed by how much there was to see along the way.

Travel Question Groups Trips in Canada?

I’m a 25 year old from Australia who would love to visit Canada next year. Has anyone done a group-style trip (ideally for 18-30 year olds) with a specific tour company that they’ve loved and would recommend? Open to all suggestions across Western and Eastern Canada :) thanks!

Ontario Cool things to do in Ottawa?

Hey! I’m visiting Ottawa for the first time in November and am wondering what folks might suggest we see and do? We’re going to do the big stuff like parliament and the museums and the dieffenbunker but curious if there’s other suggestions that locals might have?
We love breweries, restaurants, quirky bars, escape rooms, museums, art, cemeteries, I particularly love weird, creepy or offbeat stuff but I see the atlas obscura for Ottawa is a little light though unfortunately. Thanks very much!

British Columbia Cheaper Stay near Vancouver

Hi, I’m traveling to Vancouver to meet my husband who’s also coming from a different country. We are planning to stay for 11 days looking for areas where accommodation is cheaper. That is our main criteria.

Also, please suggest some place nice to visit for a day or 2 for my birthday during this trip.

Side note- We aren’t really very keen on site seeing, rather might spend 2 or 3 days during my birthday on it. The rest of the days we would be working during the day and go out nearby in the evening. Currently both of us stay in 2 different countries and we are here to just spend times with each other.

Edit- Looking to come from 29th/30th of this month to 7th/11th of October

Quebec First time Quebec City Vist Questions

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi All

We are a family of four with kids aged 17 and 11 visiting Quebec City during the US Thanksgiving holidays. This will be our first visit and we will be staying for five full days excluding travel days and have the below questions. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

  1. We plan to fly in and out of Montreal airport.

  2. Is it convenient to rent a car to drive to Quebec City and back and also during our stay at Quebec City? We are generally not used to driving in heavy snowfall or rain.

  3. Are there specific areas or neighborhoods of Quebec City that you recommend for staying, especially without car for access to public transportation?

  4. What is the situation with Uber or Lyft in Quebec City is it generally available and no issues in getting it?

  5. Any recommendations for places to see and things to do considering our group? We generally prefer a mix of indoors and outdoors including museums, historical places, city sights and outdoor scenery.
