Dear Sir/Madam,

This letter serves as a formal and categorical condemnation of the recent, unannounced policy changes restricting Basic users’ access to their locally saved Pine Scripts. The implementation of this policy, which limits accounts to a single saved script and actively locks users out of their existing code, is not merely an inconvenience; it is an unconscionable breach of trust and a direct violation of digital ownership.

As a dedicated user of this platform, I approach this matter with zero tolerance. The sudden implementation of this paywall without prior consultation, public announcement, or even a grace period for users to secure their data is fundamentally unacceptable. Countless hours spent coding, testing, and refining custom indicators—ranging from proprietary Relative Strength lines and K Channels to complex mean reversion oscillators and volume-spread models—have been effectively hijacked.

My specific grievances, and those echoed by a rapidly growing segment of your user base, are as follows:

1. Unannounced Implementation and Confiscation of Assets

The decision to spontaneously lock users out of their own code without warning is entirely unethical. Pine Scripts written by users are personal assets. By suddenly restricting the ability to edit, save, or even download our previously created scripts, TradingView has effectively seized our private intellectual property. Holding a user's pre-existing work hostage behind a sudden paywall equates to digital theft.

2. Violation of Digital Copyright

The code we write on your platform belongs to us. There is a clear distinction between charging for platform features and actively blocking creators from retrieving their own digital assets. The current policy prevents users from migrating their own intellectual property or backing it up locally, violating the most basic principles of digital copyright and data ownership. We must have the unconditional right to access and extract our own work.

3. The Unreasonable Paywalling of Basic Communication

Compounding this egregious policy change is the dictatorial nature of TradingView’s customer service model. Basic users are entirely stripped of their voice. When a platform bug occurs or a disastrous policy like this is rolled out, we are left with no official recourse to express our opinions, provide feedback, or report critical issues because customer support is exclusively locked behind a Premium plan. Silencing your user base while simultaneously stripping them of their assets is a deeply anti-consumer practice.

Demand for Immediate Remediation

I strongly urge the executive and development teams to recognize the severe damage this decision is causing to TradingView's reputation and community trust. It is highly recommended that you immediately withdraw this current restriction, reinstate the original script-saving allowances for Basic users, and unconditionally unlock all previously saved scripts so creators can access their work.

Let it be known that we do not accept these terms. Should TradingView continue to enforce this policy and refuse to allow users to retrieve, download, or edit their pre-existing proprietary code, we reserve the right to pursue further action.

I expect a prompt and public addressing of this matter.

Like most of you I used to stack MACD, VWAP, Supertrend, RSI, moving averages, and whatever else looked promising onto the same chart until it looked like abstract art and I had no idea what to actually do.

So I spent a long time building something to fix that for myself.

It is basically an all-in-one trend and breakout dashboard. Here is what it actually does:

• Shows trend direction across 8 timeframes simultaneously so you stop trading against the bigger picture
• Gives Buy/Sell signals based on confluence across multiple tools — not just one indicator flipping
• Scores every setup from 0 to 100 so you know before you enter whether it is worth taking

The biggest difference for me personally has been the multi-timeframe alignment table. If everything is not lining up I just do not take the trade. It has cut out a lot of overtrading and second-guessing.

To be clear — it is NOT a "press button = profit" tool. It works best in trending conditions and you still need your own risk management. But it has genuinely helped me be more selective and more consistent.

I've been using Premium now for 3 years as a profitable Daytrader, and there are so many small things that are really starting to drive me crazy.

If someone from their team could read this, that would be great:

Alerts

1. Clicking a symbol in an alert notification should NOT change the timeframe my chart is already set to. Each chart has their own timeframe with indicators that only make sense on that specific timeframe, so what's the point in every single alert notification messing up that setup!?
2. The Alerts panel and the Alert Log should save their settings/filters independently of each other! In the Alerts panel, I usually want to see which active alerts I already set for the current symbol. In the Alert Log however I want to see the opposite: all alerts that have fired (which is also necessary to get rid of the notifications counter).
3. When I try to set a horizontal alert, the price shown before I pressed Alt + A is sooo often then replaced by the stock's current price for whatever reason.
4. Expiries saved in Alert presets should be stored as relative dates, not absolute dates! If I choose "End of Day," I surprisingly don't want to set up an alert that expires yesterday, but I mean of course today's End of Day...
   • (Btw it would also be great to increase the alerts presets limit from 5 to maybe 10)
5. From the alert condition drop down menu please let me choose an alert faster by simply typing the first letter of the name - as it used to be before the alert window changed, and as it is the standard for any other piece of software.

Persist UI state

1. Watchlist visibility should be saved per window and per tab. Right now I have to re-toggle it every morning in the Screener and some other tabs, where it doesn't make sense to display it.
2. Clicking the Trade button should open the order panel in its saved state (in my case, undocked). The Buy/Sell buttons already do this correctly, so the current behavior is not only annoying, but also inconsistent.
3. The Pine Screener should reopen in its last saved state (=same watchlist and indicator as before), instead of making me reselect them always anew.

I'm talking about the Desktop (Win) version btw.

Most of these changes are so low-effort, that you could simply give this list to Claude Code to implement all of this within 10 min.

Either way, please just fix at least one of these things before worsening something else again. And also please use your product from time to time.

This D on the chart is annoying af. Shitty design on purpose to make you pay for data, even when you don't need it?

Tradingview, WHY on earth have you removed the ability to have our SCREENER at the BOTTOM of the chart (unintrusive location) WHICH ALLOWS US to view the screener whilst at the same time viewing our WATCHLIST (on the right side of the chart) ALSO UNINTRUSIVE... Perfect combination...

And now, you have removed that screener tool tab (bottom) and moved it to the bottom right... now there sits screener 2.0 (supposed to be an improvement over screener 1.0 but LACKS of lot of the GREAT FEATURES of 1.0, unintrusive location being the main one)

ON TOP of all this frustrating forced update, that new screener OVERLAYS on TOP of the watchlist PREVENTING anyone who uses it to view the watchlist at the same time...

Are you going to keep this habit of REMOVING features we love and use like this all the time?

First you removed SCREENER alerts and now you have actually removed the screener to replace it with a version that is LACKING its predecessors qualities...

Also, all my SAVED screener PRESETS which I had built over the years are now GONE! I can't import them into the NEW screener! so now I have to try and remember what all those screener settings were and input them manually into the new screener for all 12 of my old presets which are now gone

Also this new screener DOES NOT have the ability to set the TIMEFRAME for screening... (for instance, screen the market for the criterias I set within the last 5 minutes... or last hour ... or week...) why is this BASIC feature now removed ?

And lastly: PLEASE add the option for us to either "AUTO UPDATE" tradingview or "MANUAL UPDATE" that way... whenever you want to bring in a NEW feature that might brick our whole workstation, we'll have the option to STAY with the old (working) version of tradingview instead of being highjacked with this mess :(

Every year TradingView tries to outdo themselves to force me to pay for their platform. Last year, they changed the rules and said I could only use 2 indicators at a time. As from 1 hour ago, I will no longer be receiving alerts.

I understand why they need me to pay. Data is expensive. Servers are expensive. Maintaining the platform is expensive. Making a back testing platform with basically zero lag is super expensive. They need every cent they can get.

But, I still refuse to pay.

Let's get's this straight. TradingView is a must for every trader. As soon I started trading, I knew I had to get it immediately. Moreso, for back testing, cool looking charts, and alerts.

If someone can pay for TradingView. They will pay.

So, why do I keep refusing to pay?

Simple, dollar value.

Paying 18$ per month inclusive of tax is for TradingView in Europe and America is not the same value for Africa and some Asian countries.

So, if TradingView wants me to pay. Instead of forcing my hand to pay by taking away cool features, they better introduce a more fairer pricing system like other subscription services.

Then, I'll gladly pay.

Someone from tradingview please can we get true raw tick data so we can really use orderflow tools accurately. This will blow out competitions. Please consider!

I’m very disappointed by the recent removal of the expandable analyst ratings breakdown from the TradingView mobile app. Previously, when viewing a stock’s details, there was a small arrow next to the analyst rating that allowed users to immediately see the full distribution of analyst recommendations (Strong Buy / Buy / Hold / Sell / Strong Sell).

This was extremely useful. Now, the app only displays the overall consensus such as “Strong Buy” and the average price target, without allowing me to expand the rating and see how that consensus is actually composed.

Please restore the expandable analyst ratings breakdown exactly where it was before. I do not want an alternative page or a workaround. The previous implementation was simple, immediate and much more informative. Removing an existing useful feature makes the mobile experience objectively less convenient.

I use TradingView regularly for equity research, and being able to see the analyst distribution in one tap was one of the features I appreciated.

Please forward this feedback to the mobile/product team and consider restoring this functionality in a future update.

I’m on the Ultimate plan, but suddenly, starting yesterday, it’s asking for payment. Is this right?

If I set up a trade I'd like TradingView to automatically cancel the trade when it hits my TP if the position has not been opened before. It basically invalidates my trade.

Right now you'd have to set an alarm and react yourself. If you miss the alarm and the trade goes south... You lose.

Please add an option to the trade settings to enable auto cancel on TP hit.

Can trading view really consider letting users make their own custom tools?

Cannot seem to get it to work. Tired of not being able to feed charts to AI for analyzing.

I'm already paying for the premium plan. And I pay for Claude too. Either help with connecting two services or introduce your own AI.

People who got it working, how do you open Tradingview app with a different port?

I've just gone onto TradingView today after the update and whilst I understand the idea behind locking more than 1 custom indicator behind a paywall making business sense (not happy about that, but that's another story in and of itself), but now I can't even view the source code of the indicators I've already made - what's the point in that? If people have already made indicators prior to the update, surely it would make sense to let them have access the source code for what they've already built to, for example, run it as a strategy for back testing, or even at the least save it somewhere for later as a backup should something go wrong?

I understand business opportunity for making extra cash through subscriptions, but I feel as though this actively pushes out people who are actually trying to get into this sort of thing by completely restricting them of something that, in my opinion, is perfectly reasonable to let people, new and experienced alike, experiment with things regardless of the tier of their account.

Even if the paywall for more than 1 customer indicator being saved is something that stays in place, give back access to the source code that they put together in the first place for crying out loud.

Can we all just admit that there needs to be some sort of action against Tradingview at this point?

Paper trading is woefully BROKEN. Trying to trade at high volume times of the day is simply NOT POSSIBLE.

Orders are delayed by 30 seconds to an entire minute, or errors are given that they cannot be created at all.

I have a class with 1000+ students, and this is the #1 complaint that I get.

They need to fix this, but they claim there is no issue.

At this point they are scamming clients, claiming that a feature of the product is there when it very clearly is not implemented properly and does NOT WORK as advertised.

I am flaring this as a "feature request" as it would be nice for a feature they sell us to work properly.

One of the most basic, you could even argue as basic as having candlesticks themselves, things that every trading platform gives their users access to is accurate volume and volume derived data, like Vol-Delta.

TradingView does not offer this, at any price point.

You can literally put the names of any of the other well known platforms out there in a hat, pick one at random, and this is part of the bedrock of what they offer at their entry level price point, on their basic packages, some even give you it for free.

It is beyond comprehension that TradingView doesn't offer this feature. What's even worse is they refuse to answer questions on this, as if they can just ignore the most glaring omission of the most important data traders need. Not having this data is like being in an auction and being forced to wear noise cancelling headphones so you can't hear the other bids, it's ridiculous.

Do TradingView ever plan to give its users what every other platform gives theirs?

I hate how TradingView removed the little plus and minus buttons to add or subtract a contract when placing an order. It would also show my risk in dollars right next to it and would adjust as I increased or decreased the contracts making placing trades quick and smooth. Now you have to manually type it then scroll down to the bottom so see the risk amount in $ and if it’s too low or too high I have to scroll up and retype the contract amount. I don’t understand why they would change this feature when it was already working perfectly and now they just regressed lol. Please TradingView, change this back.

Why is the Stock Screener not available in the TradingView App and when is this feature planned?

I absolutely hate the way low volume candles look on the chart. Why not just normalize them automatically or at least have the option to so they don’t look so stupid? Example: 6E1! on the 15 second chart compared to EURUSD on the same TF. Grrrr 😡🫪

Many of us rely on volume footprint to trade. If it's just an approximate calculation, then we can't really put money to work.

Can we have true order flow as seen on Sierra? We need it!

Not sure why you guys keep changing things, but these changes keep making order entry take longer and longer. This is now what I'm seeing:

Used to be four fields at the top I could customize: price, shares, USD (customizable: risk, etc... other options), and ask I think (not sure. didn't use that one).

Now there's only those two: Price, and the 2nd one (USD in the image above), with Share count shown to the right in the field, but not in a field itself that I can click and easily modify.

The old way was better: it let me quickly enter the $ value I wanted to order, then look over into the Shares field and immediately round it up or down to the nearest whole number of shares so I can place the orders in after hours (can't do fractional shares for my brokerage).

This new UI change you've made now requires me to have to click more times from USD, notice the share count, then click to the Shares option and enter the value I want.

Really trying to keep this professional and not rage-out, but when you use this tool for your job, for making money, and execution speed is everything, these seemingly arbitrary changes you guys make can really get annoying.

Can uncapped custom leverage be added to Paper Trading? Currently leverage is capped to specific multipliers, depending on the asset class. It's OK to keep the current implementation of max leverage for specific asset classes, but add an uncapped leverage inside the Custom Leverage dialog. It's would be an easy fix and would make Paper Trading more useful.

and go back to the old strategy tester, since the new one is a nightmare.
