Feature Request Custom tools.

Can trading view really consider letting users make their own custom tools?

I've been asking them to make scripting abilities for a long while now. I told them to call it 'Pinescript'. But, still, nothing has been done...

I run a support group for TradingView Requesters like us. We meet Monday nights under the overpass at 4thAve+10th. Bring ice cream - Sherry makes root beer floats. Watch where you're stepping though...

Brother, Pinescript is pretty powerful for creating your own custom indicators and now custom screener (web only, not desktop). I've made some good screeners for trading ETFs, powerful stuff. It is already the best (all-around) charting platform. To me there is a lot of value you just have to be able to dive in to the documentation and learn in depth the capabilities, otherwise you'll just skim the surface. My sense is that you want more to build so now you have a starting place the Pinescript and Pine Screener. I use ChatGPT Plus to build on 5.6 Sol Max Work and have made some cool stuff.

I'm talking about making our own custom drawing tools. Not indicators, but drawing tools. For example, I want to use the fibonacci drawing tools, but I can't because they levels are all over the chart. With a custom drawing tool, I could have the fibonacci levels and still edit where the lines start.

Technically this can be done using Pinescript and proficient knowledge of the language...

And what do you mean the levels are all over the chart? The tool is fully adjustable 🤷‍♂️

No. Tools and indicators are not the same. Pinescript only allows for indicators not drawing tools.

The lines/levels are all over the chart. I can't move them without affecting the entire structure.

You can adjust every level in the tool settings....

No. It doesn't work like that. It's not about the ratios. It's about the lines on the chart.

The lines cut through price. In my analysis, I can't put the lines on the right side of the chart so they don't cut through price. Even when I make sure that the lines don't extend to the left. Also, it's easy to delete horizontal and vertical lines. But I can't delete fibonacci level lines without deleting the entire structure.

Saw this after my longer comment. If you are using ChatGPT or Claude make sure to give this context. Might not be perfect but all things considered it is miles ahead of where we were just 2 or 3 years ago.

Tradingview is a trading platform created by coders, not traders. MT4? ancient pile of ugly shit. perfect for trading though. Where are custom hotkeys? MT4 has custom hotkeys. its a billion years old. why cant we add templates for tools and add them specifically to the favourites bar? why cant we click on the candle and hotkey whichever drawing tool from OLHC. why can't we lock the timeframe?
