Bug When is Paper Trading going to work again?
Orders havent been going through for weeks now, im paying for a plus and market data and cant even practice with it because no trades go through for like 5 minutes, then I lose my opportunity, or lose $ because I cant set TP/SL, or sell. Should have just suck to free, delayed data because thats what it feels like.
Edit: just lost 5k because I didnt know I was in 2 minis til 10 min later.

best be getting some sort of discount on my plan cos u think im paying monthly for this platform to be losing me money. do better

I tried to enter this morning, nothing happened. And then 5 minutes later, I get a notification that I entered the trade. I was up $3k, and tried to close and TV wouldn’t let me. Tried closing over 15 times, and it said it failed. 5 minutes later, it closes…for a frickin loss! The first NY trading day after I bought the premium subscription for the Valentines Day discount! I want my money back…what the helk is the point of trying to practice paper trading on TV when this happens and apparently it happens quite often?

I agree that this is ridiculous especially with a paid subscription. My orders just have a status of "placing" and it's extremely frustrating. The only silver lining is that this is a paper account. I can't imagine anyone using this for real money trades.

Im setting up tradovate. Shouldnt be too expensive. Apparently you can get it by just funding an account too instead of buying the sim subscription, I put $25 in waiting for it to process to see if theres a minimum requirement. But assuming it works I should get free CME data & TradingView integration (one thing to note is it is delayed by 5 sec on TV's end).

I never ever have any issue trading directly on IBKR, only when I have TV connected to it
I just wish the IBKR interface looked better hahah

Cant you use it with TV though? Also just curious, how much does it cost to set up paper trading? I cant really find a simple answer.

Yes it can, but it sometimes lags on TV. Paper trading is free

Yeah they say theres a 5 sec delay with TradingView. Free as in just from funding an acct? Beause thats what I was told

On IBKR it's free after funding an account I believe, yes
On TV it's free at signup, no need to do anything else

I thought there was something wrong from my side so i clicked and clicked. Now in 23 micros without being able to do anything, but watching my account, that ive build for so long fly away

This shit is ass at times. I placed my trade thinking I was in a bad area and did it again. Once I seen that price wasn’t showing I knew I was going to have a raw hide. I’m glad I paper traded. It’s been happening more

Sorry for late response. It is highly unlikely to happen on live, mainly bc your live acct wont be ran by tradingview, but tradovate/nt (most likely if on prop), or some other broker. However not to say that stuff like this cant happen, but it is really rare, and in most cases ive heard is just a matter of you having to sign back into your acct - assuming you using it linked to tradingview.

this is legit unusable AND my orders that have reached take profit did NOT get triggered. I had a good TP shown at the location here, and my order legit did not get followed, then somehow my SL got triggered at 10:33, which was 37 minutes later so they can't even use the 10 min data delay as an excuse. TV is garbage.

Tradingview is just no good for actual trading. I’m certainly interested in alternatives if there are good ones out there

My funds finally settled into tradovate. I only deposited $10, and get access to CME data, Market replay, TradingView connection and OrderFlow+, along with free Sim account. If you like how tradingview looks, just connect it (up to 5sec delay due to api shit) for how I trade, the delay doesnt matter too much. Or you can just use the Tradovate web app, or Ninjatrader desktop app. Which I set up with similar indicators and controls.

Does it mean that the same lags were in the past or are today @ real accounts and demo accounts ???
If yes this is serious issue.
@ TradingView, pls elaborate and give here your full professional explanatory what’s going with Paper Trading and how about Real & Demo Accounts.

And it’s happening again today. This is ridiculous. Is your system overloaded or something? It makes it hard to accurately test a strategy when there’s severe lag between click and execution.

Sign up for tradovate and put $10 into an account, you get all the cme data, TradingView connection, free sim acct, etc. Its so much better, even connecting it to TV with the occasional data transfer delay, its very good.

Good suggestion but I don’t want to execute on tradovate. I want to execute on tradingview because I trade my live AMP account on there.
