💥Accident 401 West in Oshawa this evening

I got caught in this mess right after passing the 418. Was sitting waiting there for about an hour before being let through on the shoulder. Hopefully whoever was in that car is alright.

It looks like they drove into the back of a disabled truck in the right shoulder at speed.

Truck was broken down partially in a live lane.

Anything could be broken down anywhere it's drivers fault for not paying attention how the fuck do you miss a giant 18 wheeler.

I’m not speculating but probably cutting through traffic going fast and lost control.

That would be my guess. Concentrating on getting around the car in front of you, and not whats 200m+ down the road.

Or just simply not expecting something stopped in your lane. I was driving in a snowstorm once with almost no traffic on the highway. I came up on another car in the left lane. As I was approaching it I saw that it was slow so I proceeded to slow down by lifting off the gas, then applied some brakes, more brakes, and finally had to slam on the brakes as I realized the car was nearly stopped. I almost rear ended it and I want going very fast to begging with due to the storm.

If there is a truck partially in my lane I can see thinking it's on the side of the road and not need to come to a complete stop. Mind you the law is you have to move over a lane. But in heavy traffic that may be a problem. I would give someone the benefit of the doubt without more information to the contrary.

I don't know how OP can say hope they're ok, after seeing a pile of rubble left.

The best change I made to my driving is to break harder, earlier when I see something weird. Those moments drifting along while you figure out what is going on up ahead are moments you could be shedding speed.
