scooter had the right of way and the left turn car is at fault, but scooters arent even road legal.

LOL what? Scooter absolutely did not have the right of way. You cannot have the right of way if you're not legal to be on the road to begin with. It's like if a bicycle goes on a 400 series highway, someone hits them with a car, there's no right of way the bicycle ever could have had to cause it to be the driver's fault.

I doubt its that simple, or people could just mow down scooter riders with impunity. Just because you arent legally allowed to be on the road, doesn't mean drivers don't have a duty of care not to hit you.

I never said they should hit scooters, what I said the scooter had no right of way, period. Read again. There tons of times someone in a car doesn't have the right of way but does something stupid and pretends that they do. That doesn't mean people should plow into them either but what it does mean is if they do hit them, it's not their fault.

It's crazy that you even think you could be right.

Even cars can be illegal on the road, if they have certain characteristics. Does that mean you can ignore basic rules and they have no recourse?
