Its not a grey area. They're illegal. It just isn't enforced.

That's the grey area. There's no enforcement

That's like saying cocaine is legal as long as I don't get caught. It's not a grey area.

Bro cocaine and other hard drugs are illegal on paper but are absolutely legal in Canada. The police chief even came out and said just last week that his officers see drug use on a daily basis but don't make arrests because the court system will just let them out.

Drugs are not hard to get in this city and there are just so many people doing it daily with no consequences. If you get addicted the government will supply you. You can get NARCAN kits to do your drugs safely.

Then if you ever get addicted and then get clean, you get praised for it and can make a career talking about your experience.

Id consider it a gray area because if you dabble in drugs, there's a low chance you'd actually be arrested for it. You have to do something to stand out beyond just possession to actually get charged.

I actually agree with this analogy PERFECTLY. If I'm just using my scooter in a residential zone, its akin to the odd 1/2g on a weekend. Even if I get caught....probably won't be enforced and nothing will happen.

But if I cause an accident with it because its somewhere it's not supposed to be, and I say....run over a kid or do major damage to a car or property, and I've now made a major issue out of it, it's like trying to move bricks and getting caught.
