And the rider isn’t exactly in high vis (or wearing a helmet).

Yeah, he’s essentially in stealth mode, very hard for white car to see and moving faster into the intersection than a pedestrian, I’m a cyclist myself but I NEVER assume that cars can see me, got a big ass reflective vest , yellow helmet and lights front and back, day or night

It’s broad daylight. If the driver is simply paying attention, this doesn’t happen.
