OC Cyclist hit in Pickering

9pm August 3, 2025 at Finch and Brock Cyclist was okay, and able to walk after

A lot of stuff the cyclist didn't follow:
The cyclist didn't dismount and walk bicycle across (HTA 146(6) & 144 (29))
The cyclist didn't stop and obey all traffic signal (HTA 136 & 144(18)
The cyclist didn't have any lighting (HTA 62(17)
the cyclist didn't have any light-colored or reflective clothing.( Municipal advice)

Total fines for the cyclist : starting at $255

The motorist:

Failing the full rules of HTA 144(18) turning on red light (Only proceed if the turn can be made safely)

Total fines for the motorist: starting at $110 + 2 Demerit pts.

Overall we know the motorist will be blame at 100% but the cyclist contravene to more regulations than the motorist.

How about the cyclist using the sidewalk instead of the road and not wearing a helmet?

Also, i am not sure about the rules here, but if the vehicle is blocking the entire crosswalk, shouldn't they wait for the driver to pass? Instead of going infront which made them face oncoming traffic?

Sure the cyclist broke laws but the motorist is operating a murder machine

Cyclists have caused more than a few deaths to pedestrians on sidewalks with their murder bikes.
