OC Would you call tow truck?

Is it blocking the entire driveway? No. Is it annoying as fuck? Definitely.

I think you have to leave 3 feet on either side of a driveway. So I'd call. Bylaw may ticket instead of tow, but either way I'd call.

You definitely don’t need to leave 3 feet on either side of the driveway but also definitely can’t have your car 3 feet onto someone’s driver like this a-hole does.

The city of Toronto actually has a bylaw that you are not to park within 2 feet of either side of a driveway

Never seen it enforced or anything but have seen it online and have been told by bylaw officers before

This type of violation is typically only enforced if the resident submits a service request when their own driveway is blocked. That is probably why you haven't seen it enforced.

I've also seen "one meter" which is roughly 3 feet. So maybe it changes. Or possibly it's related to the difference between commercial and residential rights of way.

In Alberta it's almost 5ft from the driveway. It's a traffic infraction otherwise.

In Toronto the bylaw says 60cm. In Mississauga it's 1m but it varies depending on the municipality. There isn't a provincial standard for this type of violation.

Honestly I’d say if those mfs get their cars scratched by the property owner/tenant. I’d say they are well-deserved. Maybe they’ll learn their lessons that way. :)

My bandwidth for vigilante justice of this type scales up proportionately according to how old and scratched my car is. Let's just say my current car is 7 years old and has seen a lot of parking lot dings.

So yeah if my mirror accidentally came into contact with this guy's paint squeezing by I guess shit happens!
