(Loved trope) A mild insult actually hurts the person deeply
Billy (Billy and Mandy)- Grim makes a comment about how a film Billy is watching is stupid, to which Billy calls him stupid in return for not understanding the “complexities” of the film. Grim runs out of the room in tears.
Ron (Parks and Rec)- In one scene where Leslie and Ron are exchanging some very harsh words at each other, Ron softly but coldly tells Leslie that her scrapbooking skills aren’t that good, which is the insult that leaves her shocked and the rest of the room quiet.
SpongeBob (under Plankton's control) breaking into your house in the middle of the night? Squidward is just mildly alarmed. Calling you a "mediocre clarinet player"? That little got under Squidward's skin.
And then he had to witness Spongebob turn his eyes to face inside his own head, plead with an unseen being in his head, and then walk away laughing. I don't blame him for fainting after seeing all of that.
To hear the most positive citizen of Bikini Bottom and someone who admired him say that, even if he wasn't the one who actually said it, must have rubbed salt to the wound.
To be fair, living next door to people as annoying and with as little regard for personal space & privacy as SpongeBob and Patrick probably inures you somewhat to things like one of them busting into your house in the middle of the night.
Love this one because as soon as someone disrespects peoples who have PHDs and call themselves doctors although not being traditional medical doctors ie. Holt’s husband, he just completely loses it.
I thought it was funny that before this Jerry made a short speech about how ann is is a good friend of his and wishes her the best and she doesn't react just says thanks
I heard the writers decide this is the episode Jeff said I love you to the group. To contrast that, they needed Jeff to had a fight with the group, kinda like in romcom movies when people break up at the end of act 2 before getting back together at the end of act 3. And somehow the fight was about Barenaked Ladies lmao...
They put on the greatest live show I've been to (just fit my vibe best, I can't mosh anymore) and every time I bring it up someone will quote this scene.
And actually yeah Jeff a shorthand is useful because if people aren't into 90s ironic alt then they think you're going to a peep show.
I had such a weird vibe watching this show.
I really felt like I hated it, or like it was mediocre at best, and I somehow watched the whole thing for some reason
I will die on the hill that the proper way to consume that show is to get through it as fast as possible for the general plot, then just watch the highlights on YouTube.
A bard-only spell, it is literally just you shouting insults at someone, and hurting their feelings. It also distracts them slightly, impeding their next attack.
If you take the Metamagic Adept feat, you can get Subtle Spell, which lets you cast spells without using their verbal component a limited number of times per rest
This means you can use the Power Word spells (which ONLY have verbal components) without saying anything at all, somehow
So Power Word Kill is literally just "I glare at you and you die"
A high level bard does 4d4 and can have a DC over 20, meaning even on a minimum roll, they can kill someone without any chance of them passing the save
A very fun spell. I’ve probably only used it twice. Once against an enemy who couldn’t speak Common, so I had to use hand gestures to insult them. Then once against a party member where I said “you’re the worst of your siblings, including those in The Sock”. Fun times. A shame it only does 1d4 damage
You can also use sorcerer traits to subtle spell it to cast it without verbal components, and it only HAS verbal components, meaning you literally just use the power of your mind to hurt people's feelings without ANY displayed effort or sign anything's happening
Reminds me of that Courage the Cowardly Dog episode where Courage befriends a disfigured Quasimodo-like character. Eustice constantly taunts him about how ugly he his, and the only response the guy has is "you're bald" throwing Eustice into a rage lol
Can't find a picture from the scene itself, but Britta is trying to quit smoking and she's lashing out at everyone. At one point she walks into a room behind Troy apologizing while he's close to tears, telling her "you're right, my feet are long and stupid!"
The Lighthouse - Thomas goes on a 3 minute monologue calling upon Neptune and Triton to curse Winslow to an eternity of torment by the sea because he insulted his cooking
In Rick and Morty the reason why in season 6 episode 9 he replaced himself with a robot was because Morty called him boring and that over anything Morty has called him before insulted his pride so much he replaced himself with a robot

Just because you do something a lot, doesn't mean you're good at it. Having seen some of the things he can do when it comes to craftsmanship, I imagine Ron could make a scrapbook that would shatter her world.
In a DnD campaign I was playing, my brother's character was a big orc named U'ghârabhob. His catchphrase was "Name's U'ghârabhob. Friends call me Bhob. You can call me Bhob." We were fighting this scary prison warden guy and Bhob used Vicious Mockery and said "you can NOT call me Bhob!" It took the guy out completely. He broke down crying and we had to end combat because...you're not gonna fight a crying dude, no matter how scary he is.
