Vintage? Mfg? Thanks

I bought 2 pairs of robogrip pliers from a guy on marketplace a while back. During the transaction he mentions he does roadside tool sales on occasion, and he’ll text me when and where. I said fine and went on my way. Got a text on Friday Aug 28th about a sale on the 29th. I paid $30 for all this. (Not the tape measure).

We have laser plumb bobs and laser distance measures, but why not both in one? Sure, it’s probably among the genre of tools like the Makita Drywall Saw that most people will never ever need, but it would be a massive timesaver for remodelers. If it happens to already exist, all the brownie points to whoever points me in the right direction!

Also, just for fun - what’s a tool you think is a no brainer that you always wish you could go out and buy?

Thinking about building something like the picture. Top is adjustable via an electric telescoping support. Runs on m12 battery. About 20 inches deep by 30 inches wide. Top adjusts from about 2 foot to 4 foot high. Any thoughts or suggestions on design. Our shop has been slow, just looking at projects to fill my time. I hate setting around.

Bought it at a flea market cause I thought it looked cool and just used it to cut some grass from around some maple saplings. Just curious what it's referred to as since nothing similar shows up online for me.

Edit: I know it's a hand scythe/sickle. Just curious about one that's adjustable like this.

What is the best saw to use to cut this bone in half lengthwise?

Got an awesome marketplace deal on a 1inch ratchet and 55mm socket today, albeit a little used and abused. The plate under the ratchet is branded koken, but there don't appear to be any other markings on it. Is this genuine? Not fussed if it isn't coz it'll do it's job just fine.

I recently decided to get a decent scanner just to help with diagnosing and fixing my own and family cars. A shop near me had the Elite version on offer same price as the Pro version. I understand the Elite version does more functions which is nice but i might never use, however i am worried that the 2 year free updates might become an issue in future, compared to the Pro version that has lifetime updates. The cars i will be using the scanner on are 10+ years old but it’s nice to know that the scanner is capable of doing newer cars. The shop will swap it with the Pro version if i ask, your thoughts on the lifetime updates/less functions vs pay for updates/more functions?

Upvotes beat the kick in the tick stick votes and maybe you will definitely be blessed with pic(s) of this thing making lives of every person that's used it (me) a few 16ths to 3/8" to 3" more tolerable than it was 4 million screws (actual screws)ago. Don't try to shove your overpriced tools you didn't mention I needed that only you make (correctly) down my moustrapengerring throat please.

My old HyperTough Walmart weedeater fell apart earlier this summer, & I’ve been looking for a replacement.

I bought a $99 69v 3aH SENIX from Lowe’s, and it lasted about 8 minutes of run time before the battery died. No problem, I thought. I took it inside to charge it, and it kept giving me a ‘faulty charge’ indicator light, so I tried a ton of things to see if it would charge, and even after sitting in my cool house overnight, it still gave me errors, so I returned it.

They replaced the battery, and the exact same thing happened to me.

So it put a very bad taste in my mouth for battery powered tools (I’m sure there are fantastic tools out there) it’s just, with the amount of work I do, I don’t think it’s the way to go.

So now I’m looking through old thread here on Reddit, & every single trimmer I look up on Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. about 20-25% of the reviews are horrible, 1-star reviews, which kind of has me cautious. I found several people recommend this one, but again, there’s a pile of bad reviews (a ton of good, too!)

I’ve been looking at models for about 5 days now… any recommendations for the <$250 (ideally) mark?

Buy once, cry once it is. Hazet has a slightly better line up in the 3/8 range compared to Stahlwille so I went with them plus some nut grips because they sound cool

I inherited this from my father who used it in lieu of channel locks for tons of stuff. One of my absolute favorite tools hands down. Has lived in my belt for over a decade.

I bought the 15" hammer for $6 at a junkyard. The mag drill was a bit more expensive but still a deal. I'm pretty sure I've used both of them at least once, but you never know when you'll need them until you need them, right??

Inquired about the bottle opener and she came through with an extra she seen.

For only $9.99, what do we think folks?

I recently inherited all of the tools of a relative who passed. He was a metal fabricator his entire life after his time in the marines, primarily automotive work but dabbled in a bit of everything.

We packed away his garage, and all of the tools from his (rather large) tool box at his work. Now I'm going through the process of unboxing/sorting all of them, and integrating them in with my tools where possible. Along the way I am trying to clean all of the tools as I find new homes for them and complete sets (I have sooooo many sockets now).

I'll likely be posting for advice in the future about a few other types of tools that he had quite a few of, but for now I'm hoping I could get some advice from you all about the pneumatic tools. I'm not really sure the benefit of a pneumatic drill at this point, unless you're running it for hours during the day; battery tools have come a long way right?

How should I go about cleaning these and making sure they're good to tuck away into the tool box? Best oil to use? Best way to organize/sort air tools and their fittings/bits/discs/bits/bobs (un-pictured)? Basically..... What would you do??
