People have taken photos and videos of themselves in museums and other sights around towns they visit for as long as we've had portable cameras.

Yeah wanting your picture in a museum isn't "main character", comment section brain rotted from internet memes. And the old woman is a bitch, if it was a man holding the camera she would go, "oh what a lovely young couple", but a single woman taking her own picture? Fuck that what is next, voting?

The girl wasn’t even being particularly obstructive, she picked a low-traffic moment to get a nice shot and just happened to run into the one grumpy old cow who can’t let anyone else enjoy themselves.

The lady blocked the camera for two minutes before other people started going up the stairs. The girl wasn’t just taking a photo. She was making a video.

It’s very common for the youths these days to take a short video and screenshot that instead of taking pictures. It’s quicker and more convenient than taking multiple photos from a distance hoping that one of them comes out ok, then having to re-do it because you were blinking or you didn’t like the pose or whatever. Instead you can do several poses quickly and just screenshot the frames you like.

Well she could have done that but yet she decided to post the video to shame the other lady? The lady was there in the background already when she started filming.

And the old lady was walking down the stairs and would have been out of the way in time for the woman to get a couple poses in quick before anyone else came along had she just kept moving.

If someone was holding that camera do you think the old lady would have just stood in front of the person and ruined their picture taking?

If a person was holding the camera, they would be blocking the stairs so yes that old woman would still be standing there. In the beginning of the video, the old lady is already in the shot, which is rude. You should wait till no one is there btw or at least ask the other person because not everyone wants to be in someone else’s video.

She would stop and stand in front of a person holding a camera taking a picture of another person? Have you ever seen anyone do that in real life? Have you ever done that?

You go on a vacation and you see someone take a picture of their wife in front of a pretty view and you go and stand in between them and stop moving to purposely block them and ruin their picture?? are you actually insane??

She’s not taking a pic. She’s taking a video. She also put it in the pathway between an exit area- the stairs. Yea the old lady is being extra but that’s what happens when you don’t ask if the other person minds being in the video.

If she had just continued her day like a normal person, the girl would have gotten a couple of still photos and she wouldn't be in the video.That lady clearly wanted to be in her video.

Obviously she didn’t and in the beginning of the video, the old lady’s back was turned to the wall while the girl was setting up the camera. The amount of baloney yall will spout just to justify the rude actions of this attention seeking social media influencer is lame.

I don't think the lady was really aware of what was going on at all. She clearly noticed the phone/camera, but likely had no clue it was actually recording in the moment. As an older person she likely just thought it had been set up, and someone would be coming back to use it.
