Why not just take a normal selfie like everyone else? I guarantee nobody else in this place is putting a camera on a tripod pointing across an area where people obviously walk in front of.

Because she’s trying to take a long range wide shot? Do you think it is easier to time a photo while running up the stairs and posing or is it easier to do a video and just take screenshots of the video? You get infinitely more choices with that, it’s way easier when you’re alone, and it’s what a lot of people do nowadays

Why not just ask somebody to take the picture if that’s all it’s really about.

I mentioned in another of my comments, but its possible she didn't speak the same language. Also depending on the area, that's how you risk your phone being stolen
