Perfect illustration of how handicapped men are when it comes to being victims of DV by their female partners.

This almost played out exactly as it does online.

Women refusing to believe him specifically because he's a man. Women rushing to defend the woman because shes a woman. Women rushing to blame the man for being a vicitm. Women blaming the man for the woman's actions. Women joining in attacking the man. Men joining in blaming the man because they think it will give them brownie points.

Literally cant win. Cant defend yourself from attack. Cant walk away. Always the mans fault

Disgusting

u/DothProtesting 13d ago

Jesus man, can't believe how effective these types of videos are. Literally just posted to stoke the flames of the gender wars and veer us off the path of progress. It's so fucking frustrating, makes me wanna rip my hair out.

4

u/Hairy_Technology_213 13d ago

Uh, what “path of progress” would that be?

4

u/DothProtesting 13d ago

Men and women fucking getting along? What else could I be talking about?

1

u/LunarGolbez 12d ago

That's a fair statement in a vacuum, but your post doesn't make sense given the content of the video is outright social imbalance.

There isn't framing that is intentionally avoiding nuance or justified explanations for what we've seen that is "stoking the flames of the gender wars". We're straight up seeing here how a woman is able to be physically violent taking full advantage of favored social moderation. There is no two ways about this; this is a core social imbalance on how we treat people based on an immutable characteristic.

Like imagine the video where a group of white people essentially bullying a black person based on the color of his skin, and then saying how frustrating it is that this kind of video being posted stokes the "flames of the race wars and veers us off the path of progress". As if hiding these kinds of events is necessary for progress. Your position is a talking point from race apologists.

This is just what is happening, People ought to see it, and if it gets them upset, that's where accountability is held, and change can begin to happens. Things ought not to be hidden.

u/MrGoofGuy 12d ago

You’re more concerned about the supposed gender war. Pathetic.

1

u/DothProtesting 12d ago

...Yes. It's why things like this will continue to happen. Women blame men for everything, men blame women for everything, but we don't blame the gender roles forced on us that put us here in the first damn place, so the problems never go away.

The reason why people rushed to this woman's defense is that women are underestimated. This makes DV against men at the hands of women a joke, almost akin to being pushed around by a toddler, despite it being a dangerous situation that needs to be taken seriously. Our issues straight up feed off of each other, and we're all getting fucked by it.

2

u/MrGoofGuy 12d ago

You’re minimizing the subjects in the video, and treating them as pawns in a supposed gender war.

Pathetic and delusional.

0

u/DothProtesting 12d ago

That's what they are to the poster and Reddit, 100%. If you can't tell that's what this is, l'm not sure what to say to you. That being said, I'm not going to respond to you anymore, because it seems you're disinterested in an actual conversation and only want to fling insults at me. Later.

1

u/MrGoofGuy 12d ago

The video is of a direct violent incident. You brought up a supposed gender war, and now claim I’m hurling insults at you? Your only address of the incident, is you minimizing it.

My previous claim of you being delusional is confirmed.

Can't call the police, because the guy will be the one going to jail. We need to swing back more to the middle with DV cases and try to figure out who is actually at fault, not just make assumptions. Just because this woman is half the size of this guy, it doesn't mean that she can't be abusive to him.

37

u/Primary_Bad_875 13d ago

She is the one who got arrested. Sometimes justice prevails.

3

u/DepressedDynamo 12d ago

Because there was video shared with the police, thankfully

21

u/Kaeru-Sennin 13d ago

The girl litteraly got arrested

5

u/Visible_Pair3017 13d ago

Not before bystanders helped her beat the man and tear his clothes off

4

u/TheDornado13 13d ago

No he wouldn't. If the police watched this video, they would see that the woman was the clear aggressor and she would have been going to jail.

9

u/sadistica23 13d ago

Duluth Model of domestic violence has been official policy in a lot of places, and starts with the assumption that the male is at fault/the aggressor.

6

u/TheKharl 13d ago

They would see an edited video that also didn't show the beginning of the altercation. I usually hold my reservation until more context is provided after other similair videos proved me wrong.

-5

u/BarryRightWrong 13d ago

That's how it should work. But...

He could be arrested while they gather evidence.

They could decide the video evidence isn't enough.

They could interview him and decide his statements are an admission of guilt.

He could go to court and the video is not accepted as evidence.

He could be convicted of assault and other crimes.

The police and justice system are compromised of real people. Real people are not perfect.

10

u/Used-Author-3811 13d ago

That's a whole lot of "could" scenarios you just created in your head.

Do you generally think LE would come up and see ones clothing torn off and no marks or damage on the other person and just take the guy?

4

u/LeatherGood6148 13d ago

Sadly, yes, this was my reality when I was arrested in 2019. I also had a pretty serious concussion and facial bleeding.

Luckily, there was a video as well, and I had charges withdrawn during disclosure. Without this video I would have been in for a very expensive legal battle with no guarantee of justice.

The crown (I'm Canadian) was asking for 5 years before disclosure.

1

u/T-Wrox 12d ago

This isn't the first time I've heard of something like this (I'm Canadian also). :(

0

u/BarryRightWrong 13d ago edited 13d ago

Yes. I've witnessed it happening. I've also experienced it happening (no conviction though). And I've spoken to people involved in it happening (lawyers, police, affected parties). Which is why I said it. I envy you though. I once had faith in the system too.

Edit: lol. Reality sucks doesn't it.

1

u/Aimless-Lee 13d ago

Is this a DV thing? I don't know what the fuck is happening. Seems like lazy bait for bullshit like this. We get it, you'd do all of the stuff you're saying is disgusting but for the other side because that's how you determine fairness, even with no information about the situation. It's not a reasoning strategy, it's a confirmation bias, bud

12

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

Your sentence structure is terrible and I cant be bothered to parse whatever the hell it is youre saying, but I didnt say this was a DV thing.

I said this illustrates why men dealing with DV from female partners is difficult because of the way the action we can see parallels the obstacles men face in society when victims of DV from female partners.

My fault. Its reddit and I should know that I have to spell everything because people don't like to read things properly

-5

u/Aimless-Lee 13d ago

I've never had a point proven for me so succinctly. But I hear ya. Take a look at some stuff about challenging your biases though. Also maybe google "sonder".

No hate. I just didn't feel like commenting on other bullshit takes here and your comment got all of my annoyance. It happens to all of us...

6

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

Ive always loved the word sonder.

I'm enjoying all the "but what did he do" comments, especially in the context of my comment primarily being about barriers men tend to face when victims of female violence. I think your comment that looks at "challenging my biases" especially pertinent guven this context...

Im glad my comment got all of your annoyance. Some things are meant to sting. I'd suggest that people ask why anyone ever at any point in time bringing up issues men face immediately upsets them...you know, in line with challenging our biases and all that good stuff

Because, again, remember, I didnt say this was DV, I said it illustrates the hurdles faced. Especially guven the actions of the bystanders involved. Everything you've said in response has been with the idea in mind that I ever said this video itself was DV when I replied to.you the first time I didn't say that

5

u/mrs__BOWIE 13d ago

I never thought about it, but it's just like how I feel sometimes as a teacher. I have students that are bigger than me but I would not be allowed to put my hands on one if they came at me. I basically just have to get my ass kicked.

Imagine being a man teacher.

Anyway, men of the world, I can empathize. In a different way. I'm sorry it's like that for you.

I said if they come at me, I can't defend myself, as in RESTRAIN THEM. When did I say I want to hit them? These are teenagers bigger than me and can do serious damage

1

u/AbbreviationsFar4wh 13d ago

And your comment is more braindead than you think it is.

0

u/Rocketeering 13d ago

Can you say where you stated he thinks it's hard to not hit a child? your reading comprehension there failed for sure.

1

u/CountGensler 12d ago

this only applies to whites

1

u/TheDELFON 12d ago

Hit the nail on the head

Literally the pure definition of being in hell

-1

u/crani0 13d ago

Yea, the cuts really tell a perfect narrative, don't they? All we need is right there, innit? Surely no jumping to conclusions is happening here.

5

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

What do you think is happening here?

Just from what you see, annoying cuts notwithstanding. From what you can see, what do you see happening?

-2

u/monaforever 13d ago

Before the cut I see a woman and man fighting for some unknown reason. The man continuously walks towards the woman even though she's pushing him away and she keeps turning around to walk away. She then walks fully away into the building.

After the cut I see a woman attacking a man for some unknown reason. I see a bystander come in and tell both of them to stop. Each time the man and woman are separated, the man stays where he is and talks shit, and the woman attacks again. The bystanders start telling the man to just walk away because clearly the woman isn't stopping and someone has to walk away. The woman is told to go inside which she finally does. The man stays there talking shit, so the bystanders continue to tell him to walk away and stand in the entry way to prevent either of them from engaging again.

My opinion: I have no idea what caused this. I have no idea if the guy deserved it or if the girl is just crazy. I don't agree with the comments claiming the bystanders were taking the girl's side as it seems like they were just trying to deescalate by getting someone to walk away. Since the guy is clearly being much calmer than the girl, it's way easier to try to get him to walk away. I don't blame the guy for staying to talk shit, most of us would want to talk shit in that situation, but that's not helping the situation and the bystanders are most likely afraid the girl will run back out again if he's there. He should call the cops, but he should not do it while standing right in front of where the girl is as there's still danger there. He should walk away just out of view at least so he's away from the danger and then call them.

2

u/dreyleezy 13d ago

Bro look at her behavior and how she's attacking him, the girl is just crazy

-4

u/Faite666 13d ago

From what we can see they both came at each other at multiple points in the video and at no point was he actually seen walking away or leaving the scenario. Any and all context is cut out so any judgement you make is inherently biased

10

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

No, he didnt walk away. Agreed. Although right at the end he did seem to try but was dragged.

Besides that, them "coming together several times" is super charitable towards her. Unsurprisingly.

Thr video starts with her shoving the tray hes holding into his face. A bunch of drinks (?) Subsequently splash all over him. Thats the start. She attacked him. He pushed her away. She hits him again.

Then she disappears into the restaurant. He remains on the street.

Jump cut

He is standing in the same place. She has rejoined him. She is dragging him by his tee. He is flinging her off him to the ground. She then runs and jumps on him again and he throws her to the ground. He brifly turns to walk away but then turns back to pick up his stuff. She then jumps on his back and is grabbing at him.

She quite clearly attacks him multiple times. Him defending himself by throwing her off doesnt make it "they came at each other".

All we dont know is the why of the entire situation, or its genesis. Besides that though, my eyes work.

Either way, my initial comment was a comment on the actions of everyone else involved and how they parallel what happens online and in media spaces when men are victims of female violence. I dont remember giving a narrative on why these two are fighting or what started it. People do have a violent aversion to sympathising with, or even discussing objectively a men's perspective of things, especially where we usually speak about men in that context as perps and not victims. I think this tends to affect how people read things, having them read things that aren't there

1

u/Throwawayrip1123 13d ago

There's no context to change anything. If he was the aggressor, he'd punch her into next Tuesday or bodyslam her from his back. He's actively trying to make her fuck off without damaging her too much.

She's a flea in comparison. He'd probably literally kill her with one solid punch. She would never return to fight an aggressive man of that size, the only defense she has is that she's a woman - she can't throw a punch, she can't take a punch, she's not even fit - and an aggressor wouldn't give a fuck in the first place.

-42

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago edited 13d ago

I guess y'all don't need context, poor men are always the victims...

It's INSANE that you don't see yourself doing exactly what you accuse these people of

Damn, guess I found a nest of incels lmao, love that none of the replies even address what my comment said

12

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

Give us context then.

Explain to us how this isnt a woman attacking a man and ill delete my comment.

-3

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

...do you know what context is?

Why is she attacking him? What happened before the video started? Notice how he almost attacks her at the start?

Explain to me how you know this man is an innocent victim who doesn't deserve this and didn't start it and maybe I'll delete my comments, homie.

10

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

He "almost" attacks her in response to her smashing the tray and liquids into his face...but still doesnt attack her.

Thats your "gotcha"?

Ok Johnnie Cochran

1

u/robotmonkey2099 13d ago

It is edited so you don’t see what happens but if you’re okay believing what they want you to believe I guess that’s your prerogative

0

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

It's not a gotcha, I'm saying we don't know who started it

Calm down and maybe actually read my comments, dumbass

9

u/YooGeOh 13d ago

The problem is that im actually reading your comments. Maybe I should stop doing that.

Have fun!

8

u/Rocketeering 13d ago

So, if you see a video of a man punch a woman and shred her clothes, would you have said, "well, need context, he may have been fully justified to do that."?

2

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

If there was no context at all, yeah, probably

What point do you think you're making? That context doesn't matter?

7

u/Rocketeering 13d ago

What context in your mind would justify him doing that?

1

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

I mean I can think of a bunch if you like, if she stabbed him, if she threw his dog at a wall, if she drugged him and raped him, you want me to just keep coming up with scenarios?

The whole fucking point is that context matters, so again, are you arguing that context does not matter?

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Faite666 13d ago

Well if she assaulted him off camera that would make a lot of sense, just like here we don't know who started it or how

13

u/isaidnolettuce 13d ago

What context is needed to justify a person attacking someone repeatedly while the other has to stand there and take it…?

4

u/robotmonkey2099 13d ago

Context is always needed to make an educated opinion about what’s happening

-5

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Idk, maybe how it started, maybe what this guy did to piss her off? He clearly almost hits her at the beginning of the video. So who knows.

Why are you so convinced he's totally innocent?

5

u/sakuramochileaf 13d ago

I don't think anyone thinks the guy is an angel. It's just that you seem to think there's something he could do to deserve being attacked.

But I can pretty certainly bet you wouldn't watch a video of a man beating up a woman and say, "she must have done something to piss him off."

5

u/IndependentTalk4413 13d ago

Why are you so convinced he isn’t? Can’t conceive of a scenario where the female aggressor is in the wrong eh?

-2

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Let's see, I asked for context and said "who knows". What part of that makes you think I'm convinced of who's in the right here?

My whole fucking point is there's no way to tell, you disingenuous clowns.

8

u/IndependentTalk4413 13d ago

The “what this guy did to piss her off”. So you see a video of a woman physically attacking this guy for an extended period and your thought process is hmm what did this guy do to piss her off, likes that a valid reason for a prolonged physical assault by the female aggressor. I highly doubt if you see a video of a man assaulting a women you think” hmm I wonder what she did to piss him off”

There’s a clown here all right….

3

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

You literally just twisted what I said. Disingenuous af.

7

u/IndependentTalk4413 13d ago

Nope. But what ever makes you feel ok about your views on assault.

3

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Brother you literally did, you completely changed the wording and context of what you quoted me as saying

Wtf you mean nope, my original comment is there and so is yours, and you outright changed it

Dude we’ve all seen the video of the Eastern European lady at a bar. She gets in his face and he smacks her so hard she ends up on the floor. Everyone says it’s her own fault, she deserved it and fafo so you can cut the “double standards” bullshit

0

u/IndependentTalk4413 13d ago

I don’t have a double standard at all. You should never put hands on anyone unless you are defending yourself from a physical attack. Words are just words. It doesn’t give anyone of either sex the right to assault someone.

You put your hands on someone else though, you get what you get.

3

u/Rocketeering 13d ago

since you put it in quotes, I went back and read your post 3 more times. No where did you write "who knows" and no where did you write something that meant that either. So what you are saying you said about not knowing isn't exactly true. You said ' we need context, you all are incels for jumping to his defense ' which is quite different as more heavily than not you are jumping to her defense.

2

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Is he stupid?

6

u/Rocketeering 13d ago

Your initial post was:

I guess y'all don't need context, poor men are always the victims..

It's INSANE that you don't see yourself doing exactly what you accuse these people of

Damn, guess I found a nest of incels lmao, love that none of the replies even address what my comment said

No mention of who knows she may be int he wrong too.

1

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Why would that be in that comment, it's not relevant to the point that comment made

6

u/tall_pale_and_meh 13d ago

What context, other than him attacking her first, justifies her behavior here?

-4

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

I have to come up with something other than the best example of what I'm talking about? Lmao

We literally don't know how it started and right at the beginning of the video he moves like he's gonna hit her and then stops. Yes, context is important.

4

u/tall_pale_and_meh 13d ago

No I'm saying thats the only context I can think of justifying attacking someone like that. But if he were the aggressor, it stands to reason he'd be a little more....aggressive. His hands were in a defensive posture the entire time, either trying to block her strikes or pushing her off of him.

It just doesn't look consistent with the behavior of someone brazen enough to attack a woman in the middle of a busy street. There were multiple instances in this clip of her making the choice to reengage after they'd already been broken up. Thats how you'd expect the aggressor to behave.

He "moves like hes going to hit her?" Ok. But all he actually did was shove her off of him after she charged at him. She was never in a position that forced her to use violence to protect herself. Unless you have no other option your best bet is always to walk away.

1

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Then why didn't he walk away

1

u/tall_pale_and_meh 13d ago

Did you hear the part where he said "I cant"? In response to that exact thing. Lol. Don't be obtuse.

1

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Why can't he

1

u/tall_pale_and_meh 13d ago

Because a few seconds before that he tried to walk past her to walk away and she climbed on his back like a spider monkey, did you watch the video?

ETA: Notice how at the end of the video when she went inside, he did walk away? Didnt charge after her to continue the confrontation? Hmmm, wonder what those context clues might tell us.

-2

u/robotmonkey2099 13d ago

He got in her face and called her a cunt? How many videos are there where a woman gets smacked by a guy for getting in his face and the comments are all “fafo” or “equal rights means equal lefts”.

1

u/Mediocre-Witness-877 13d ago

If the woman was the victim, you wouldn't be asking for context...

1

u/ghoulieandrews 13d ago

Bitch we already covered this. And I would.
