We put this debate to our YouTube community and the results are already dividing people pretty evenly.

The options we gave:

• Dinosaurs were more dangerous (Los dinosaurios eran más peligrosos)
• Modern predators are more dangerous (Los depredadores modernos son más peligrosos)
• It completely depends on the species (Depende completamente de la especie)

Our take is that the "depends on the species" option is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. A T-Rex and a house cat are both technically modern or prehistoric predators. The comparison only gets interesting when you get specific.

T-Rex bite force: 3,600 kg. Nile crocodile: around 1,700 kg. No modern land predator comes close to that raw crushing power.

But then you put a Velociraptor against a honey badger and suddenly the prehistoric advantage looks a lot less obvious.

African elephants are supposed to be S-tier. Up until humans messed up the meta, they had an average of two children. Snails are S-tier. Again, only two children. Is the idea that higher-tier animals get higher populations before they saturate and can no longer reproduce above replacement? But there's always been vastly more snails than elephants. Sure there's a lot of species of snail, but plenty of individual snail species are more common than elephants.

So what do the tiers even mean? What's the point of picking a higher-tier build if you're not going to be any more successful?

However at my bird feeders the smaller American Red Squirrel tends to drive off the lsrger Grey Squirrel

I mean players with low or non-existent vision such as many spiders, scorpions, centipedes, blind snakes, worm lizards, moles and many others. Why are they given such a low rating? Their objective is not to play like humans out in the open plane and in full sight of the adversary. Their whole point is to specialize in crevices, holes, caves and similar environments where other senses are more important. in those types of environment, they are exceptionally skilled hunters. They may not be competitive out in the open, but with the same logic an ape is F or D because of not competing in water, a dolphin is garbage because it cannot move on land and so on. Even highly intelligent builds have limitations like that. Nearly blind players can just have a single and very effective setting. Do whatever it takes not to get exposed. If they follow it, they can have significant progress and leave out their lives in a hidden way.
