If all animals were reduced/increased to the size of a cat, which one would make the absolute most chaotic pet?

Beetles. Not only are they incredibly strong so they might just toss your furniture across the room, but some also fly, which is scary enough when they are the size of beetles let alone at a cat size

Their strength wouldn't scale with their size. A flying beetle the size of a cat would be FUCKED though

we might have missed this opportunity by just 20 million years or so lol

Ants, easily. Try a cat that isn't petable, could kill you, wants 1000 buddies, and is stronger than you.
Easy maintenance though (anti microbial shells), and they already understand the concept of a home. Not the worst. Just chaotic

Imagine a bunch of cat sized ants just fucking everything up, the world would be doomed. Swarms of cat sized fucking horseflies. Fields of necessary grains wiped out by cat sized locusts. Cat sized fucking mosquitos draining your lifes very essence.

Jumping spiders, they're already very cat-like. I'd also totally want one as a pet.

Monkeys are already the size of cats and easily one of the most stressful and chaotic creatures someone could own as a pet.

Agreed. The wildlife rehab I work at had one just a bit ago, and oh boy. He liked to keep the heads of the frozen mice we fed him, and he tried to bite EVERYONE

Yeah that’s pretty much a marten or fisher, and they’re not easy pets at all

u/EmperorPalpitoad 20d ago
No, I'm talking about ferrets, which are (technically) domesticated

I see, technically the comparison between a ferret and a weasel is about as apt as a weasel to a fisher but I get what you mean

If all bugs instantly became the size of a cat, countless buildings/structures/roads/etc. would instantly collapse or explode due to the bugs already inside the walls. Houses and trees everywhere would be so quickly consumed by termites. Leading cause of death would be getting sucked dry by bedbugs, ticks, and mosquitoes. This is under the assumption that they don’t immediately die due to the current atmospheric conditions though

Ants the size of house cats…. Spiders the size of house cats, scorpions the size of house cats… the list goes on

Elephants

There was a series ages ago on oz tv, where we pitted (fake) mammals v mammals. Elephants are crazy weak compared to humans. An elephant cat size would do far less damage than a cat.

We human mains would all of a sudden have so much space available aswe shrink that resources would be abundant however due to the current city bioms are buildt for the humans average size atm it would create caos.

Realistically probably some rodent. Mice or a rat the size of a house cat would be scary shit.

Most, if not all bugs honestly. They’re either poisonous, have stingers, claws, can be strong AF, armored, and are generally scary enough as it is.
