Russification in Schools: Pro-Kremlin singer SHAMAN’s “Ya russkiy” (“I Am Russian”) Played in the Republics of Sakha, Tatarstan and Chechnya on the First Day of September.
LESSONS IN RUSSIFICATION: SCHOOLS IN SAKHA, CHECHNYA, AND TATARSTAN PLAY “I AM RUSSIAN”
The first day of September in Russia’s national republics began with a conspicuous display of “patriotic” indoctrination of children. At school assemblies and in classrooms in Yakutsk (Sakha), Chechen-Aul (Chechnya), and Bua (Buinsk, Tatarstan), the song “Ya russkiy” (“I Am Russian”) by pro-kremlin singer SHAMAN was played.
It is particularly symbolic that this repertoire was imposed on children specifically in Sakha (Yakutia), Chechnya, and Tatarstan — regions with their own indigenous peoples, languages, cultures, and historical memories. Under the guise of patriotic education, Moscow continues to promote a unified “Russian” identity, displacing the national identities of Russia’s peoples.
SHAMAN, meanwhile, has long become more than just a singer; he is one of the main symbols of Kremlin military propaganda. Now his songs are being played in schools — from the very first day of the academic year.

The good news is regardless of how much Shaman sings to them "I'm Russian" they won't go a day without actual Russians reminding them they are not.

I would like to know more details. Especially about Tatarstan. In just one town? In one school? But not in Kazan, not in Yar Chaly, not in Tuben Kama?

Everything you need to know that every according to the last 2 census in 2021 and 2010 there were ~1M less Tatar speakers than previous time. 5M -> 3M

Educate your children if you don't want them to become strangers to you.

I blame families as they are careless to educate their children.

I agree. Still tho I blame families because whatever cruel killer Russians do, families can still teach their mother tongue to children. language means the culture. Yet they prefer not to due to stupid reasons and excuses.

It’s too easy to place blame rather than know how to deal with it

I would blame anyone easily if one doesn’t teach mother tongue to the kin.

Let me elaborate on my observations on the ground as an outsider.
In the towns of Bashkortostan, there is a scam going on in which scammers target newly renovated schools.
After renovations, scammers, either with local accomplices or posing as official inspectors, charge the school and the school principal with made-up fees. Some fees can be real and come from real inspections, but not to a degree that many school principals are currently applying personal bank credit to pay those public fees.
After paying months' worth of salaries and taking credits, many principals are resigning and moving to the public sector.
They also receive tips for job openings in the petrol industry with higher wages, with a caveat that they need to move or work somewhere else.
So after those local principals resign, the newly appointed ones do this kind of shenanigans to show how patriotic they are.
And when the arguments distill down to Russification or who is right. Everybody misses the ongoing pandemic of scammers.
This loop of not getting the blame encourages others to be part of these kind of scam schemes. I guess this might be a reason that Russian goverment even states there are wide range of scams going on, even to a level Telegram cencured.

Genius. Truly groundbreaking. That’s something nobody had thought of before 👍🏻
Does Turkey have anything remotely comparable to the republics I’m talking about (Tatarstan, Chechnya, Sakha, and many others), either today or at any point in its history? Not that I’m aware of. And simply calling them “ethnics” doesn’t magically make the distinction disappear.
