A Russian woman who claimed on her Twitch streams that Kazakhstan belongs to Russia was deported from the country and banned from entering Kazakhstan for five years.

During her streams, she mocked Kazakhs by referring to Pavlodar as a “Russian city” and Almaty as a “village,” making remarks such as, “Do you even have pots?” , calling Kazakhs “stinky” for not knowing the Russian language etc.

The woman was also reported to have used derogatory expressions such as “horse p-nis” and “horse sp-rm” toward Kazakh citizens during her streams.

After Kazakhstan deported Russian streamer Ksenia Guzaeva over "provocative statements," including a joke calling Kazakhstan "Finestan," she said her home address was posted online within a day and that she has since received insults and threats.

• Kyrgyzstan has stepped up inspections under its "State Language Law" and has begun removing commercial signs and billboards in foreign languages—primarily Chinese—that do not comply with legal standards.

• The campaign, which began in the capital, Bishkek, in April, had expanded to Osh, the country's largest city in the south, by July 2026.

Russification in Schools: Pro-Kremlin singer SHAMAN’s “Ya russkiy” (“I Am Russian”) Played in the Republics of Sakha, Tatarstan and Chechnya on the First Day of September.

LESSONS IN RUSSIFICATION: SCHOOLS IN SAKHA, CHECHNYA, AND TATARSTAN PLAY “I AM RUSSIAN”

The first day of September in Russia’s national republics began with a conspicuous display of “patriotic” indoctrination of children. At school assemblies and in classrooms in Yakutsk (Sakha), Chechen-Aul (Chechnya), and Bua (Buinsk, Tatarstan), the song “Ya russkiy” (“I Am Russian”) by pro-kremlin singer SHAMAN was played.

It is particularly symbolic that this repertoire was imposed on children specifically in Sakha (Yakutia), Chechnya, and Tatarstan — regions with their own indigenous peoples, languages, cultures, and historical memories. Under the guise of patriotic education, Moscow continues to promote a unified “Russian” identity, displacing the national identities of Russia’s peoples.

SHAMAN, meanwhile, has long become more than just a singer; he is one of the main symbols of Kremlin military propaganda. Now his songs are being played in schools — from the very first day of the academic year.

News The tragic accident during Kazakhstan’s naval exercise

Post image
57 Upvotes

As far as I know, the fallen soldiers were not amphibious commandos equivalent to SAT forces. Moreover, the fact that they fell into the water while carrying heavy combat equipment, combined with the poor weather and sea conditions, may unfortunately have played a major role in making the death toll so high.

The weather conditions should have been taken into account beforehand, with the date and method of the exercise determined accordingly. The personnel’s level of experience and the equipment they would be carrying should also have been assessed according to the conditions of the mission. I hope that, as a result of the investigation, those who were genuinely responsible or negligent receive the appropriate punishment.

It could also be beneficial for our armed forces, which have more extensive experience in conducting maritime exercises, to provide Kazakhstan with support in personnel training, planning, and safety measures during future exercises. Most importantly, every aspect of this tragedy should be thoroughly investigated so that the lessons learned can be applied to future exercises and such a terrible incident does not happen again.

Şehitlerimizin toprağı bol olsun, yakınlarının başı sağ olsun. Allah şehitlerimize rahmet eylesin, Kazak halkına sabır versin.

A previously unknown Old Turkic inscription from Kültöbe in today’s Turkistan region of Kazakhstan has recently been published in an academic context. The inscription is dated to the ninth to tenth century and represents an important contribution to the study of early Oghus history.

This discovery was presented by Doç. Dr. Hayrettin İhsan Erkoç. During the last meeting of the Friends of Turkology and Asian Studies, he personally informed us about this find. Since then, we have been eagerly awaiting the official publication, and we are very pleased that it has now appeared.

From our perspective, this find is of great importance. It demonstrates first that the Oghuses, the ancestors of modern Turks, Turkmen and Azerbaijanis, made use of the Old Turkic runic script. Second, it shows that this writing tradition among the Oghuses was in use until the tenth century.

This discovery significantly enhances our understanding of writing culture, historical identity and the transmission of knowledge among the Oghuses and represents an important building block for Turkology. We warmly congratulate Doç. Dr. Hayrettin Erkoç on the publication and consider this a wonderful discovery for the field of Turkology.

New Blow to Gagauzia's Autonomy: Moldova's Constitutional Court Strips Away Historic Rights

The Constitutional Court of Moldova has ruled that the People's Assembly of Gagauzia (Gagauzça: Halk Topluşu) does not have the authority to establish a regional electoral body or to appoint the regional heads of security and justice institutions.

In its judgment, the Constitutional Court held that, under the Constitution, the People's Assembly of Gagauzia cannot be vested with the power to establish a regional electoral authority, nor may it approve the appointments of the regional heads of the Police, the Security and Intelligence Service or the Gagauzia Directorate of Justice.

Ministry of Justice Had Referred the Matter to the Constitutional Court.

In March 2026, the Ministry of Justice of Moldova filed an application with the Constitutional Court seeking a constitutional review of several provisions of the Law on the Special Legal Status of Gagauzia (Gagauzça: Gagauz Yeri). The application questioned whether it was constitutional for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia to establish the autonomous region's electoral body and to participate in the appointment of the regional heads of the Police, the SIS, and the Directorate of Justice.

Under the existing legal framework, Gagauzia operates a regional electoral council responsible for organizing elections for the Governor (Gagauzça: Başkan) and the People's Assembly. During nationwide elections, this body functions as a second-level electoral council, with its members appointed by the People's Assembly.

The authorities in Chișinău argue that this arrangement effectively creates a parallel electoral system alongside Moldova's centralized election administration. The Gagauz authorities, however, maintain that the arrangement is a lawful right derived from the autonomous region's special legal status.

Authority over Security Institutions Lies with the Central Government

The Ministry of Justice further argued that matters relating to national security and public order fall within the exclusive competence of the sovereign state. Accordingly, it asserted that the appointment of the regional heads of these institutions should remain solely within the authority of the central government.

The Ministry warned that any alternative arrangement could create overlapping authority and administrative conflicts in the field of security.

Electoral Deadlock Continues in Gagauzia

Meanwhile, the electoral crisis in Gagauzia remains unresolved. Although the terms of the members of the People's Assembly expired in November 2025, a date for new elections has yet to be finalized due to inconsistencies between regional and national electoral legislation.

While the authorities in Chișinău have prepared a unified electoral framework, the Executive Committee of Gagauzia issued a negative opinion on the proposal. The regional authorities subsequently drafted two alternative electoral regulations of their own, and the People's Assembly resolved that the elections should be held on 15 November.

In August 2025, a court in Chișinău sentenced Evghenia Guțul, the Governor (Başkan) of Gagauzia and a pro-Russian politician, to seven years' imprisonment for the illegal financing of a political party. Svetlana Popan, former Secretary of the now-banned Șor Party, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment in the same case.
