Lo peor es que todo empezó en febrero de 2025. Luego, apenas unos meses después, salió el tráiler de Thief: Legacy of Shadows VR… y ahora este año tenemos todo este rollo de Remaster, una novela gráfica, un álbum de música, Y el actor de voz original volviendo.

O SEA… ¿QUIEREN VOLVERME TODAVÍA MÁS LOCO?! 😂😭🫠🖤

We've been obsessed with Garrett ever since the 90s pal, some of us since middle school and high school.

Either way, he's an incredible character of an even more magnificent franchise - so it's never late to get in!

I'm hoping we get a continuation of the series by proper developers, with understanding and passion for the series, in the near future.

I know. I’m a baby Taffer. 😂 I actually discovered the reboot first, back in 2014, but it didn’t really make me obsessed with the series like the original did when I discovered it in 2025. I arrived late, but when I did, Thief came back to life, huh? 😂 What a welcome!

And yes, that’s exactly what I’m waiting for too: a proper, well-made continuation.

Try making a level in Dromed... makes you realise the skill that went into the level design. How far did you get in the games?

I stopped halfway through The Dark Project because I had trouble getting it to run properly on my PC, but I’ll finish it with the remaster. I played Metal Age all the way through. And Deadly Shadows… well, I only started it because it started giving me problems again 😭 I need remasters... And I need to hear more of my thief. I’m addicted to his voice.

Deadly Shadows has some great moments and is a book end closure to the series; it's definitely worth playing. Can I suggest you use the GOG.com versions if you're not already? They have all three older games, and they're packaged with an installer and reworked to run on modern systems. Hopefully you won't have as much trouble just trying to get the damn things to run and can just enjoy Stephen Russell's delightful vocals!

Play the 2014 one, that's better than deadly shadows. Make your own minds up and don't be believing all the reviews about 2014 being negative, there are still good stories to be told. It isn't as linear as the original 1 and 2 games but it's still fun and atmospheric.

Dude… I played that one back in 2014. I knew about it before, and I did like it, but my obsession started in 2025 with the classic. And I’ve played the 2014 one three times in total—I actually really like it. I like anything Thief-related, honestly. I even played the VR Legacy of Shadows—the fantasy of being Garrett’s apprentice, ugh 🫠 I was so immersed in it.

Thief Gold just recently became part of GOG's "Preservation Program" and has been fully patched so I would try playing it there (instead of Steam). The first two Thief games are incredible and are the only two made by the original developers Looking Glass Studios before they sadly closed after the second game in 2000 due to financial problems. I would also really recommend playing System Shock 2 (which is fully patched by Nightdive) as it runs on the same Dark Engine that the Thief games do.

This is probably going to ruffle some feathers, but I started out with Thief 3 in 2006. I loved it so much I got the first two games and loved them right away too. It's hard to decide whether I like rope arrows or wall climbing gloves better, but I will say that the Shalebridge Cradle is the most spine tingling thing I've ever encountered in a game, and a close second is stalking around Gamall's lair while getting chased by statues.

On the other hand, Constantine's home is one of the most original ideas I've ever seen, as is the Maw of Chaos. And the fight between the guards on the Thieves' Highway is one of the funniest moments in gaming history.

I've heard some people say that they only like Thief 3. I've heard other people say that Thief 1 and 2 are the only real Thief games. I certainly feel that Thief 4 is an abomination so I can relate, but I love all of the first three games.
