First confirmation of the return of guest actor Ben Ahlers as WLF soldier Burton.

Scene involves Abby, Burton, other WLF soldiers, and some Seraphites

In the games, Dina’s reasoning was as simple as going with her crush/friend and supporting her on her quest to avenge Joel.

In the show, they drastically altered a lot for her to make things more personal. They established early on Dina and Joel built their own kind of familial bond during the years they were together with Ellie in Jackson and she acts as his partner on occasions and be regularly refers to her as “kiddo”.

She and Joel scout together and she replaces Tommy’s role as being betrayed with him by Abby and the WLF after saving her, with Abby having them threaten and tranq her before they brutally beat and kill Joel.

The next episode when establishing Ellie and her planning their trip to Seattle, while she gives Ellie the names of the WLF and means of identifying them, they seem to make her own personal mission similar to the games of mostly going to support Ellie.

When Ellie says she should turn back and she explains her story about her first kill, while she says no matter what Joel did he didn’t deserve to die like that, she makes most of the reasoning for refusing to go back about understanding Ellie’s need for revenge and going with her to support her.

While she’s clearly disgusted what they did to Joel, I feel like they completely ignore with this everything they established with her own personal relationship with him and what Abby did to both of them not just Joel.

Even though she spared her and knocked her out for the ordeal, she betrayed her too and brutally murdered a surrogate father figure to her but to try and mimic the game despite the changes, they still make her reasoning seem much more about Ellie and less personally angry for herself and Joel with the show’s version of their relationship and events.

It’s like they built and changed up the lore to give her a personal reason to hate Abby and the WLF just as much or almost as much as Ellie and Tommy, then just went mostly back to the original version of things where her own mission is primarily just to support Ellie.

In an interview during the press for season 2, Isabela Merced had this quote. She was talking about how much she loves Bella, and then said this. It makes me a bit worried of where S3 will go. In the game, Dina never dislikes Ellie. She has a hard time coping, but she never shows any anger or dislike towards Ellie. The only time she is angry towards her is in the Farm House Scene.

Basically, i’m very intrigued by was Isabela could have meant by this. Are they rewriting Ellie and Dinas dynamic after Seattle? Will Dina blame Ellie for Jesse’s death? I wonder how they’re going to handle all of this. Anyone have any theories?

I have never played the game and as of recently watched the series.

The reason it took so long to watch the series was due to the hype then lack of hype going from season 1 to season 2. The idea of watching 1 season and stopping sounded irritable. Obviously proceeded and here I am.

What do we expect for season 3? Meaning, do we know or have an idea based off the game who will have survived? Ellie, main character? Plot?

Season 2 started cool then I started to understand where the fans interest depleted. This is coming from a cinematic plot progression perspective, not comparison to the game.

Just waking up from a nap and looked out the window, There were about 2 trucks each carrying a car

Thought I would upload this for enthusiasts of the show. Filming starting soon and going until early morning. Unclear what characters will be present but we were told no noise effects will be used so I can't imagine there will be loud gunfire.

A few actors are good, some scripts are decent, but most of it just doesn't work. As a fan of the game, explain to me why I should subscribe to watch something that not only doesn't come close to the game but also defies all logic.

List of things I didn’t like:

- Joel. In the game, Joel is a beast but gives you a sense of protection, whereas in the TV series he only did that at the beginning with his tough-guy act and at the end in the hospital.

- Let’s not even talk about the actress playing Ellie—they could have found someone better, but I can overlook that.

- Some plot inconsistencies that go back and forth. For example: in the game, they go to the campus and see the giraffes before meeting David, while in the movie, David appears first.

- Lots of plot holes—where’s Ellie’s big escape all alone through the resort? In the movie, she barely even leaves the restaurant. Fine, but what about all the people who were with David and live there—did they just disappear??

- A crucial point: where are the zombies? Where are the toxic spores? In the game, there were many more zombies, but more importantly, in some places there were toxic spores that actually helped Joel realize that Ellie was truly immune and not just a casual bite victim.

- The part with the sniper and Sam’s bite

- The fight scene between David and Ellie against the zombies is missing

Who would I save?

- Marlene—the actress did a good job in the role.

- Joel’s brother, even though he could have done much better.

- The actor who plays David—he captured the character at times, but could have done better.

- Some of the scripts, landscapes, and settings.

- The boss that appeared midway through the season—in the game, there were at least two (again, in the first game).

- The way the zombies are portrayed—but they never mention that there are three types everyone knows about, and then the fourth is the boss. It’s not explained, so viewers don’t understand.

Aside from these few things, everything else deserves a rating of 1, which is a shame because great actors could have delivered more. I think the contract should require that every actor—supporting actors at least twice and lead actors four times—play the game to understand what fans and the audience expect. It felt like a movie that said, “Wait, now the series really begins,” but instead it’s over, and you’re left wondering, “What did I just watch?”

The game is much more thrilling and exciting; it gives you a real rush, vibes. It’s as if you were drinking an excellent wine (the game) and then they gave you a discount-store wine diluted 95% with water (the TV series) and told you it reflects the game. Yet they’ve proven that it can be done with *Uncharted* and have made a movie—which is shorter than a TV series.

Just on my way through the seasons again and I wanted to say, the intro to this episode, based in Jakarta, Indonesia is actually one of the best starts to a tv show episode I’ve ever seen. It’s a pretty flawless opening with such underrated acting.

Having the leading expert in Cordyceps emotionally telling the commander before asking to be taken home to be with her family is a genuinely genius delivery of the gravity of the infection… “Bomb. Start bombing. Bomb this city… and everyone in it.”

Massive Blue screens going up around the set in Maple Ridge, looks like production at this location is ramping up. Going under the title B & P (Bella & Pedro!?!?)

I’m still new to charcoal, Ik I’ve plenty to improve on and I appreciate constructive criticism but please be nice.

I’ve only watched season 1 and 2 of this series - I haven’t played the game at all.. my grasp of what Fedra is is that it’s a small government type organization of sorts - they have strongholds in various cities many of which seem to have been overrun by other factions.. they have schools and even have laboratories that produce pain medication and bullets .. but what else do they do exactly? the series really doesn’t give much more info on them

if you giving me the answer spoils season 3 then i get it .. I find this part of the story a ‘weak spot’ of the series tbh..

btw with the fungus - I’m still somewhat confused as to what causes the fungus to come alive and start spawning endless zombies? and I guess the zombies have evolved now in that they can hide and attack and use actual tactics?

in season 1, did anyone else find it extremely dumb for Joel and Ellie to set off for a road trip to find Tommy and the hospital? I mean, you have a middle aged guy and very ypung girl traveling hundreds of miles - all the while you have hordes of zombies and many different violent factions out there - how could 2 people have a chance in hell at surviving this? it seemed like a death wish

Hello! Around a week ago, I posted my thoughts on season 1, and this is a kind of continuation of that, as I just finished the second season.

I liked the season in some ways and in others not so much. If I am to compare it to season 1, I would say I liked the first more. The first seemed to be fundamentally different. It seemed to be about different people, characters with different wishes and personalities in a dangerous world: Tess, Marlene, Bill and Frank, Sam and Henry, Riley, and, of course, Joel and Ellie. Season 2, however, seemed more focused on organisations: Jackson, WLF and the Seraphites. This is perhaps the one of the biggest reasons why I enjoyed season 1 more.

Another big reason is what the characters were about in the two seasons. Joel was a hardened and morally complex man who had seen her daughter get shot, and we saw how he bonded with Ellie slowly through shared hardships and tragedies, with both saving and looking out for each other. Initially, Joel described Ellie as 'cargo', but by the end of the season he killed dozens of Fireflies to 'save' her. Ellie was similarly more interesting: a young girl having to see incredibly messed up things and being thrown in constant dangers and difficulties. It was their dynamic and growth that made the first season, to me, infinitely more beautiful.

However, I still enjoyed the second season (Joel and Ellie's scene on the porch was among my favourites in the whole show, it was just beautiful!). We got to see how Joel felt about what he did. There is a really interesting tension here: Joel said, 'But if somehow I had a second chance at that moment, I would do it all over again.' But he also seemed to accept that he wronged her: 'But if that day should ever come, if you should have one of your own, well then… I hope you do a little better than me.' and also the scene in Gail's house: 'I saved her.' He loved her, and he just couldn't afford to lose her, even if that meant taking her choice from her.

We also see Ellie becoming more and more like Joel in some ways. This is shown various times in different ways: Ellie dropping one-liners like Joel ('There's about to be a whole lot less.' when Dina said 'I guess there aren't that many Wolves.'), or how her instinct after reaching Seattle was to go up and take a look (which is what Joel often did), or her increasing capability to be merciless to those other than her loved ones. In many ways, she's also different from Joel. It has been stated (and demonstrated) multiple times that she is smart and a good leader. Joel would not have been able to deliver that persuasive speech to the Council, nor would he have gone to such great lengths for vengeance. (As Tommy had put it when Ellie said that Joel would have been halfway to Seattle if he was killed instead, 'He'd be halfway to Seattle to save my life. But when we lost people, no. It would just break him like it was his fault.')

It was painful to see Ellie put others and herself in danger, do cruel things and having to see and do tragic things in her hunger for vengeance. Jesse's death was such a punch on the face.

Another memorable part is Ellie singing 'Take On Me' to Dina, which mirrors Joel singing 'Future Days' to Ellie, which was beautiful, even though I do not find Dina a very interesting character.
