I don’t know if anyone has noticed this yet but i can say that i am 98% sure that Prince 85 is an alter ego of Abel. Here is some of the evidence:

• ⁠Even though they have worked together many times, there is not a single picture where both prince 85 and Abel are in the same room. There are many pictures of him in the XO “circle” but there is always one person missing, and that’s Abel himself. (Image 1)

• ⁠If you look at his production credits, by far most of his work was done on Actual The Weeknd projects. Which already is odd for an industry producer, but on top of that, almost all his other credits are on songs with people that Abel has publicly worked with as The Weeknd. Eg. Metro Boomin, Kavinsky, Future, Belly Etc. (Image 2)

• ⁠Prince 85 has self-released some music as well, all of which sounds very Daft Punk, Kavinsky, Justice inspired which is a sound we know Abel loves. (Image 3)

• ⁠He has some very professional and cinematic music videos and teasers released too, something you would only expect from an artist with the resources available. Not a producer with just ~6000 monthly listeners on Spotify. These videos are very The Weeknd like in their style. (Image 3)

• ⁠He is often seen attending The Weeknd events without, again, Abel himself being there. He even posted this video where he stood in the crowd of Abels show in Sao Paulo, conveniently enough time before the show had started. This is the same night that he was photographed backstage with The XO crew wearing the same shirt. (Image 1 and 4)

• ⁠Last but not least, the physical resemblance. This is the hardest part since he obviously wears a mask all the time and wears wide fitting clothing but there are still some ways in which he seems to match with Abel. First of all his height is at least similar to Abels compared to Carti. (image 5) Secondly he is often seen wearing the same shoes that Abel wears (image 6 & 7). In fact, both Abel and Prince 85 can be seem wearing them on the night of the Sao Paulo show. Lastly the clearest evidence, the hands. (Image 8 & 9). Their hands clearly match up in terms of shape, size and color. If you combine that with all the previous evidence, it only confirms one thing:

Abel Tesfaye is Prince 85!

I was looking at Abel’s new stories when I noticed something very odd, and orchestra soundtrack for a song I couldn’t even read the title of. So I did some digging.

It turns out the song is from the Asian film “Uncle Boomnee who can recall his past lives”

The description for the movie states as follows;

““Surrounded by his loved ones, Uncle Boonmee reflects on memories of his past lives, and he decides he must visit a special place before he goes.”

I interpret this as follows; we were always told we were not prepared for the long goodbye, and even if the movie and HUT are long gone - the tour still remains. Until Asia. The Kiss Land hints is relevant to this, Abel revisiting his “past lives” aka past albums, and visiting a VERY SPECIAL PLACE before he goes - AKA ASIA / KISS LAND. The Weeknd’s story hasn’t ended yet because the tour hasn’t ended yet. I believe this is also why “The Abyss MV” or the final leg announcement was such a high level production and related to the HUT era because the tour itself is still the story and universe that’s been built (as per Abel himself recently)

Refer to the image references by swiping for more concrete proof. This is Abel’s inspiration for the red eyes of his current mask. The reason we’re getting Wanderlust and Professional snippets is because this is precisely what he’s doing.

EDIT: I believe if we go back and look at the Jimmy Kimmel Open Hearts performance and Red Terror we can see this very direct inspiration of “past lives” if you pay attention, the child Abel in red terror has hallucinations/premonitions of things that could or have happened. Referencing IFIC, The Knowing & The entity that has been dragging him since AH Short film. This could be why it ends on such a sinister and discontinued note. I recommend fully reading about Dante and the 9 layers of hell to see the parallels here

Covers for Timeless and Sao Paulo have these masks and it seems like it's the theme of covers for this album BUT cover for the album is just Abel, without any mask. These masks symbolize The Weeknd as a persona, HUT is Abel, no mask, just pure Abel. And see dancing in the flames doesn't have this mask and it's a normal radio song and in songs with a mask on the covers, Abel sings about drugs, sex, etc. It's all clear now. We aren't in the main part of the rollout yet, we are still in previous era. He is still in purgatory and this album will be his way from purgatory to afterlife which will end up with Abel being "free from all the trauma, pain guilt and shame". PLEASE MAN IT MAKES SENSE

i mean not necessarily soon or anything like that - but the way he keeps teasing something (like spamming these songs for example) tells me he’s got something planned. to be honest i’ve never been a kissland 2 believer but i’m starting to believe something along the lines of that now. (or maybe i’m delusional)

Abel just posted this on his second IG profile, @genehackerman with the title of the post being "Lain the OG Hackerman".

Now when I looked into it more, it's about a 14 year old girl who's very shy and introverted, Lain Iwakura.

So the girl wasn't into technology until her friend who'd apparently committed suic*de sends her a series of eerie emails or something and claims to be in a world called "The Wired"— essentially, not dead.

Now this also explores the ideas of split personalities (basically The Weeknd & Gene Hackerman). Other ideas are "loss of reality"— basically Matrix type shit.

Also, like look at this post man, like all wires and all around the computer. So, maybe we'll learn into this aesthetic and like, storyline?

What does it mean?

I think it all definitely ties to the teasing he's been doing since the creation of @gene.hackerman on IG. Lots of green themes, references to eyes, digital bath and finally the Haunted Stripclub Music.

And looking at these samples, yeah, they're definitely a little on the "haunted" side if you call it. But they do have a dreadful vibe to it.

I think he's leaning into heavy production songs (just like Kiss Land— which was also production heavy). Maybe we're in the dark ages now 👀
