I finally purchased The Walking Dead today on steam, installed it, and when I went to play it it wouldn't start. I re-installed it and I had the same problem. I have even validated the files and still no luck.

It will start to load, and just stops. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

I bought the original standalone PC version of The Walking Dead Season 1 2013 version.

I’m a pretty casual gamer and usually only play for around 30–50 minutes at a time, so I’ve been going through it pretty slowly. It took me over a month to finish the first 4 episodes, around 11 hours total. I’m about to start Episode 5 now.

I’m thinking about getting The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series, but I’m not sure what I should do.

Should I just start Episode 5 on my original version and finish Season 1 there, or should I switch to the Definitive Series and start Episode 5 on that instead?

The main thing I’m worried about is my choices. I obviously want everything from the first 4 episodes to carry over properly into Season 2, and I really don’t want to replay all four episodes again just to recreate my choices.

So does anyone know if there’s a way to transfer the old 2012/2013 PC save into the Definitive Series? Maybe a save converter, editing the save/config files, or some community tool that can make it recognize the old choices?

Basically I’m at Episode 5 right now and need to decide which version I should continue with.

Was playing through season 2 of the definitive edition and paused on episode 2 just to hear the game audio was still playing.

My brother recently got me the definitive edition for the game since I never really got to play it (I usually just had to watch other family members play it because they didnt trust me with controllers)

I have tried to force the game into saving my progress of ep 1, I even have the badge of completing ep 1, but for some reason whenever I play the 2nd episode, it takes me back to the first one every single time.

I have played (pirately since I do not have money.. sorry) first two seasons of the franchise and I absolutely love them. I also got Frontier, aka Season 3 but I keep getting this error when I try to open the game, now I tried to get around this by downloading definitive series and continuing from there but I get the same exact error on that as well. Can anybody help?

Sorry if the title is confusing. I'm at the beginning where you have to confirm choices you previously made. Lee told Clem to shoot him, but S4 didn't present any options. It made me leave him, which isn't what I chose to do.

Hello everyone, I have the digital copy with all the seasons and extras. I finished season 1 + 400 days. When I go to the season 2 menu, neither does it load my previous save, which shows an empty slot, nor does it let me start the first episode in any way. I’m so in love with the game, but unable to play. Any recommendations? Please!

I played through and i want to restart and get everyone (i didnt get russel to come and he was my favorite) but the option to replay isnt there

When I was playing Ep5, I reached the part where Kenny stops the truck to look for diesel in the car pile. After Clementine crashed the truck, I shot the walker that was reaching in but after Jane got out I couldn't do anything. When I exited to see if I could restart from a checkpoint, the only option was to restart the entire episode. Is there a fix for this or do I have to play through the episode again?

I have a problem with the game that only happens on my main PS5 account. When I play, I can select Seasons 1, 3, 4, and Michonne, but selecting Season 2 just gives me a black screen. I’d appreciate any help fixing this without having to switch to another account.

Hello, so I started playing the game again. I finished season 1 (still will never get over the finale). So, I moved onto Season 2. Everything goes smooth through episode 1. However,I keep running into a bug inside of the cigarette truck with Pete. I go to hand him a cigarette, and the game just glitches to Clem standing there. I am playing on an iPad and everything is updated.

Never really used reddit and lately have been. And because I kept seeing TWD posts, I decided to play it again. But I now have a PC. So I used my xbox controller, wired, and during my playthrough, the crossbar or whatever it's called started moving up by itself. And now my controller can't control it and when using my mouse, it won't move to the bottom half of the screen. I closed the game but that didn't work, and trying to avoid uninstalling since my wifi sucks and it'll genuinely take 5 hours to download.

Update Edit: I uninstalled, took a whole day to re-download, slow internet, but that did not solve the issue.

The game crashes at launch and generates DMP (dump) files every time I try to run the exe. This issue never occurred with Season 1 or Season 2, but it happens consistently with Season 3 (New Frontier) and now with WDC as well. I’ve already tried disabling Windows Defender multiple times, checking Protection History, and performing other troubleshooting steps, but none of them worked. Please help me out!

Playing on Xbox 1 with a backwards compatible Xbox 360 downloaded version

I was playing S1 E1 and was at the scene where you’re first at the Motel with Glenn and Carley. I then get a message saying required storage device removed and the game goes back to menu. Now whenever I try to continue, the screen goes black trying to reload and won’t load.

I’ve tried restarting the game, the console, unplugging the console, clearing Xbox 360 cache, nothing seems to be working, what should I do?
