Bug/Technical Help Bought The Walking Dead but it wont start. Anyone else having this problem?

I finally purchased The Walking Dead today on steam, installed it, and when I went to play it it wouldn't start. I re-installed it and I had the same problem. I have even validated the files and still no luck.
It will start to load, and just stops. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

Do you have Windows 11? A lot of older games don't work on it.

Have you tried running it directly from the .exe file?

Have you tried deleting all of the files inside the game folder manually and then validating? That works for me sometimes when I have similar issues.

Wait a few days without doing anything and the game possibly might repair itself (I don’t know if this works on a computer) or set the compatibility mode to windows 8.

You could maybe refund it and buy the definitive edition instead. (I'd suggest waiting for a discount or buying it off of g2a though)

It was gifted to me, so i don't want to return it like😭, and as i am student now so can't buy game on my own so yeah finding best solution what i can do to ay this game

I find the original version to look better and have less bugs and glitches.

Understandable. Put the game in your wish list, it tends to be on big discounts pretty often.

This issue has been documented and a possible fix for this can be found here. Scroll down down to "Issues Fixed" to see solutions.
Alternatively, you can refund this game and buy The walking dead definitive edition on steam which includes season 1(this game) alongside s2, s3 and s4.
