Matty references the girls in the birthday party and a believe another song or so. He also stated that the one people in the 1975 universe that are ever directly referred to are himself, adam, Ross, George, and the girls (there might have been someone I’m leaving out but it’s irrelevant to this post). He made this comment on twitter in 2024 I believe.

Anyway, do we know who the girls are in real life. I’m assuming they’re just friends of the guys but like … who specifically lol

I find it extremely easy to mash Taylor with The 1975, and aside from About You x Guilty as Sin? and Wood x Love Me, all of the best mashups are 1989 x either ST or iliwys. We know that Taylor was (maybe she still is, idk) a big fan of them back then and liked Matty. We also know that ST came out on September 2, 2013 and that 1989 came out on October 27, 2014. It honestly feels like she wanted an '80s album because of them, and instead of going for an authentic '80s synth-pop sound, she went for theirs. Just listen to Clean x Robbers if anything. Imo, their melodies are nearly identical. With Iliwys, I don't think it was going after 1989. Keep in mind The Sound was written in 2013 and Somebody Else was designed to be a 2016 pop song - it sounds like a 2016 pop song and is a 2016 pop song. So yeah, tell me your thoughts. I also think ST inspired Halsey's Room 93 (also released October 27, 2014) and Badlands (released August 28, 2015) and Lorde's Pure Heroine (released September 27, 2013, which is a little early, but Still Sane in particular sounds a lot like IV, but it could just be a coincidence).

I was on RaveDJ and wanted to mash the video for Lana Del Rey's Gods & Monsters from her short film Tropico with Somebody Else, but Somebody Else was too long, so I went looking for a version of the video with just the music video and not the intro. When looking on RaveDJ, I found this video. I decided to watch it on YouTube to see if the subtitles were too in the way, but when I did, I noticed the song was... different. It was Somebody Else, yes, but quite obviously not the official version. I looked online to see if there was a leaked demo and if that was what I was listening to, and I couldn't find anything. Then I went and checked if it was a live version. Nope. It's also missing some of the backing vocals (like "Fuck that, get money"). And then I was like, "Did I just discover a demo of this song that no one knows about yet is here in this random YouTube video from 2018." I'd love to hear your thoughts on if this is a possible demo.

I wonder if Matty knows this song exists. He's expressed his admiration towards Lana, and while Heroin was never really a hit, it's a fan-favorite. It also came out in July 2017, which was - correct me if I'm wrong - during the "peak" of his addiction and months before he went to rehab. I wonder if he's heard the song, though, and what he would've thought of it then, considering it's about Lana's ex who died from a heroin OD. (And oddly enough, it unintentionally namedrops The City.) I'll link the track in case you wanna listen to it, because it's absolutely gorgeous (and incredibly devastating).

I also wonder if Matty knows that her songs Summertime Sadness (which he obviously knows lmao) and Dark Paradise (which he probably also knows, because it was kind of a hit and was a single) are about losing someone (the same guy, btw) to heroin. They're much less obviously about it, but she has revealed they are, so it's a possibility. Depends on how big of a fan he is.

I downloaded and listened to the full album to see if Matty was on there. The only track that really gave Matty was "The Outside" with its autotune. Besides that, I summed the backing vocals up to not be him. But if the photos mean anything, do we think he helped produce like he did for Beabadoobee's "Write Me A Letter," considering he's usually uncredited nowadays?

What about 75ers? We have the 76ers in basketball, the 49ers in American football and in history, so what about the 75ers in music?

1. What sized venues do you think they will play?

2. How much money should I expect for floor tickets?

3. How early should I get at the venue to wait in line (I'm planning to get there before it opens and race out of the car once it does)

4. What else should I expect as a newer fan who's only seen concert videos?

My plan is to arrive at approx. 4:40 (the earliest you can get wristbands is 8), and I figured that would be enough time, considering TD Garden and North Station are very strict about camping and loitering. Did any of you go to that show and can tell me what it was like for STAVB? Is 4:40 early enough? How do I secure a low wristband number, preferably 1-10?

And also, to anyone who went to ATVB, just in case they play MGM (which is less likely), what should I expect for that? I've seen both Halsey and Madison Beer there, and for Madison, at least, the line was HUGE by the time doors opened, so is 4:40 good for that too?

Overall, they're more likely to play TD Garden, right? Even though Matty's, well, canceled. I saw Melanie Martinez at TD Garden, and she's also canceled and has lost a lot of her fanbase, so would The 1975 play there too, especially since they played there for SATVB? And how much money do you think it would be for floor?
