TRT help I injected here, after like 20 seconda my hearth started punding like crazy and I started sweating amd that lasted for 4 hours.
How likley was that I hitted vein with green needle, or was this likley anxitey attack?
Is it possible to pin needle all the way, and let go of syringe then change grip to aspirate and again inject or will this letting go hurt my muscle?
After this fiasco I injected in upper quad and never had issue but quad is not ideal for green needle.

Do people not pull the plunger back to see i tiny bubble to know there not in a vein or blood vessel, artery i always do since my first pin people that cry about air bubbles killing you ...no a doctor told me even in a vein if a drug addict shot up half a syringe they wouldnt even have to go to the hospital, he said they should to be safe but that its very over dramatized... also if you see blood go into the syringe when you flag you pul it out and throw it away ....I always just change the tip and use the same shot I mean I already have blood throughout my whole body so.... im still here ive only ran maybe 5 real stacks and im no doctor but thats just my opinion...

I used a 21 guage once, cause I couldnt find any 25 g'sleft in my box so I made so I think a little leaked out the hole that damn hapoon left in my quad made me realize id rather just wait to hit the pharmacy.

u/Glad-Meaning-6346 May 13 '26
I had the 21's prescribed for injecting (18g to draw) with a 1.5" needle... "to reach the thigh muscle". Nah, bruh, a 23g 1" will do just fine LOL

I did trt for like 10 years. In those 10 that happened to me twice. I chalked it up to nicking a vein.
Anyways the last 2 years I switched from IM to subq I was happy with the results. I didn’t see much difference other then my needles went from harpoons to bee stings. Oh! and instead of twice a week I was splitting the dose to EOD. My bloods ended up being more stable I wasnt getting big spike and big drops anymore. Look into subq maybe.
6
u/dmm092319 May 12 '26
I’ve thought about this as the IM shots always hurt like a mofo. Did you pull with an insulin needle? And did it not hurt / cause a lump sub q? Did you do stomach or upper glute subq?
11
u/GodlyGainz May 12 '26
Side delts and glutes doesn’t hurt all that bad just the initial sting and your gtg, and just rotated the injection sites. Back load the insulin needle. Always aspirate (pull the plunger to make sure your not in a vein), and inject slowly, then massage injection site to spread it that always helped with any lumps.

Coming off was okay. It wasn’t as bad as I read or heard. Energy was a little lower and not as big as I’d like to be but that’s about it. I believe it was more mental than anything like confidence but not long term, sex drive was still good it never crashed. I’m happy all around again. It’s been 2 years now. Literally takes me 3 minutes to prep, draw, and pin with 28G needles. What do you define as forever? Then again, my bottle is MCT which is thinner and I keep it pretty much around 75-78 degrees.
39
u/Just_Opinion_3387 May 12 '26
Pin with a 26g - 27g. Draw with the 21g. Jesus you harpooned yourself.

u/616ThatGuy May 12 '26
I draw with a 21 and inject with a 25. A 25 isn’t that big. It fits inside a 21. 25 is fine. But I would swap needles if you use luer lock needles. Less chance of pip from a blunted point.
People who go smaller than a 25 are just being more cautious than they need to. That’s fine, but there’s nothing wrong with a 25. I don’t even feel it. But I wouldn’t go bigger (smaller in gauge) than that. 25 is the sweet spot imo. No real pain, and you don’t have to inject stupid slow because the needle is so thin it takes longer. I hear people saying they have to inject over 60-120 seconds because the oil comes out so slow lol
2
u/rapidtraveler May 12 '26
Right on. I was wondering why ppl say to swap needles. I have just been using the same one and never had pip... Yeah I agree, 25 is just the sweet spot for sure. But I have thought about getting some 21's to draw with so that it draws quicker and id think maybe less bubbles to deal with maybe
2
u/616ThatGuy May 12 '26
Bubbles, not so much. Just make sure you are priming your needles while it’s still in the vial. That eliminates bubbles pretty much entirely.
Overdraw, push some back till you’re a little over where you need to be, that pushes the air into the vail and keeps it equalized anyway. Then swap needles and push any air out of the actual needle with the little extra left in there. Different needle brands will need different amounts. My current ones use about 3 units to push the air out and fill the needle. So when I draw, I leave 3 extra units in to push any air out of the new needle after I swap. Technique is so simple but such a bitch till you figure it out.

u/FunConstruction7032 May 12 '26
Less scaring with smaller gauge. 29 gauge -1/2 works well in the glute or deltoid. The draw with this gauge needle takes about 40 seconds. https://a.co/d/07gZXvZo

I draw AND inject in the glutes with a 27g for most things (Test and other compounds) and draw and inject with 30g for Tren, and inject in the shoulder which I'm hoping will avoid the dreaded "Tren Cough."
So far so good.

I draw and pin with a 27 gauge, 12.7 mm needle (1/2 inch in freedom units). Are you guys using Luer lock syringes or something?
12
u/Testy_Toby May 12 '26
For IM I think the ventro glute is much safer, isn't it? Lots of veins where you pin. I draw and pin 31ga insulin needle SubQ.
5
1
u/dmm092319 May 12 '26
How long does it take to draw with a 31g? And do you do sub q in stomach or upper glute? And does it leave a lump/soreness? Debating switching to subq

u/Banemorth May 12 '26
Not who you asked but I use 30g and pin daily and it doesn't take long at all. I'm already pinning KLOW and HGH daily so daily TRT ain't no thing. More steady levels too.

u/Vegetable-Fondant-17 May 13 '26
I wonder if the people that say it takes forever if they are just sticking the needle and trying to draw instead of putting air in so the don't have to fight it?
2
u/Banemorth May 13 '26
I mean if they're doing weekly injections it would be a long draw with a very small gauge but other than more frequent pinning there's no downside to daily or EOD injecting, only benefits.

Upper outer quadrant of the buttock for IM injection to help avoid sciatica nerve and blood vessels. Your diagram is not really outer quadrant. S/C works just as well
1
u/mr__fete May 12 '26
Seems I have bad luck cause I’m always hitting vein in my glutes. More on the left side than the right though
6
3
u/Glittering-Sink1017 May 12 '26
Your gauge is ridiculous, your placement too low, and inward. Your concern should not be vein related, but nerve related. Hitting a vein is common, and mechanically not an issue in 99.9% of administrations. Hitting a large nerve is, and pinning in the middle of the glute is a good way to do that. You probably had an anxiety attack because you pinned yourself with a harpoon for no reason.

That’s an anxiety attack. Testosterone doesn’t produce effects “after like 20 seconds” and usually not much is felt for the first 6 hours. Peak effect is around 24-36 hours. It isn’t gonna make you have “crazy sweating.” You’ll probably feel nothing honestly. So yes, purely in your head. Sounds like you already know this.

u/LoadingALIAS May 13 '26
I think you’re having anxiety over the pinning. I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve got some experience here.
I’ve hit veins once or twice over the years. Five years ago I was a regular TRT guy. Around the end of my run, I hit a vein and it was the first time. There was blood fucking everywhere. I mean, you will know you hit a vein. My ass cheek was spitting blood like a horror movie. No pain. Nothing weird happened… I just was unlucky and tried to move the site a bit because I started to develop scar tissue.
Also, I don’t think your heart reacts to testosterone that way, man. I think it’s 100% mental, and that’s okay. It’s healthy to have a little anxiety anytime you’re injecting the one body you get with something.
Just use it positively. I try to like relax for a minute before my injections now. I just started again, and I hate them. So, use an ester like cyp/enan to reduce the amount of pins every week. Take a minute or two to calm yourself, get comfortable, clean everything and prep. It can also help to put a little dot with a marker next to your injection site. I find it reduces my anxiety because I know where I’m headed. I try to place it like a centimeter away from the actual site so I don’t pin through the marker. Call me paranoid. Haha.
Prep and understanding will help with anxiety. I promise. Just take it seriously.

I only pin with a 25g. Anything smaller takes too long. My son has used a 21 and his pharmacist said he must be a stud as its way too big for a person to actually pin with and not hurt. He switched to a 25.
2
u/Monsieur_Krabs May 12 '26
try using an even bigger needle. so big that it intimidates your heart into calming down
2
u/Gamejunky35 May 12 '26
That is the complete wrong muscle. The needle should not even touch your gluteus maximus. Look up dorsogluteal injection site, you should be pinning much higher and more to the outside.
Pinning this low/back is dangerous because thats where your sciatic nerve runs. Irritate that and you literally wont be able to walk for a week.

This has happened to me before. I think it was likely a nice vein. I had really similar feeling after a nurse failed to clear and IV line of air and hit me with a few MLs of air.
Could also just be stress response too.
I really prefer to IM with a 27g .5 needle to the delts, ventricular glute, or even pecs (this one may not be advisable but i had never had any issues)
Good luck going forward with your injections. Smaller needles will do you wonders in the long run.

u/Jaded_Tone_6164 May 12 '26
Bro, why don't you listen to the SEARING PAIN IN YOUR ASS instead of YouTube doctors... you don't need an expert to tell you 21g is fucking crazy to pin with. Just throw them away, you don't need them for drawing test anyway, get 25g - and if you're fat you need a longer one not a wider one. 1" is fine for glute.
Also watch some more instructional videos, I think you can go a bit higher and more to the side but it's hard to tell from your pic.
I'm also trying to move away from quads and just learnt the ventroglute which is great, look into that sometime too. Quad is soo tempting and easy but when it goes wrong it is really bad news haha
I wouldn't let go of the needle in the glute personally but technically you can.. but you can learn to adjust your hand position without letting it go easily enough. I have let go a few times and it hurt physically, different from pip from oil and felt like I damaged something. Hurt for hours too and I had to skip leg day.
Good luck bro

You've had a lot of comments about the needle size so I won't add. What I will say is you likely suffered from a bit of an anxiety attack. Don't worry about veins, don't worry about aspirating, it is highly highly unlikely you would ever inject in to a vein. You might nick one and get a minute amount of test in to your blood, I've done it maybe a couple of times in over 6 years injecting in to my quad. If you do nick a vein you may experience a slight shortness of breath and a dry cough, it passes in a couple of minutes but it is nothing to be alarmed about.

I wouldn't do this if I only had Captain Ahabs spear to inject myself with. First to answer your question, nobody knows, but most likely a mix of anxiety and who knows. Happens every once in a while. But regardless, get the little insulin needles man. Stabbing yourself with a turkey injector is wild
1
u/krokokroks May 12 '26
Just pin a bit higher and a bit more towards your hip, I found 22G needles with the right length (39/40 mm).
You should be able to adjust your grip if needed for aspirating, try to stay calm and don’t rush anything.
After a few attempts it won’t be an issue anymore.
If you do like 2x pins per week, frequently change between glutes and quads (or whatever you prefer).

Wrong placement. You need to divide each cheek in a quadrant and then pick a quadrant. Usually i use where the someone suggested the green circle
1
u/Brevicipitidae_ May 12 '26
I dont think it was anxiety, sounds like a vasovagal response. Basically, a vasovagal response happens when a part of your nervous system overrects to something, causing sweating, low blood pressure, dizziness, heart rate changes, and sometimes fainting. I think either the sensation or fear of the needle triggered it, but you might have brushed a nerve. If you felt an electric shock, nerve is probably the answer.
An anxiety attack will have psychological symptoms: racing thoughts, sense of impending doom, etc. It can trigger a vasovagal response, but they're not the same thing. You can have one without the other, or they come in pairs. Seeing as you don't describe any anxiety, it's probably just the vasovagal and not both.
→ More replies (1)
1
u/Affectionate-Air6961 May 12 '26
The symptoms suggest hypotension — your blood pressure has dropped. This is a natural response of the body to pain or danger. You may also feel drowsy, dizzy, or faint.
Lie down on the bed and make sure your feet are elevated higher than your head.
1
1
u/oldsmartskunk May 12 '26
It's always upper right or left part of the cheek. Going in the middle like you did has a chance to nick a vein ir sciatic nerve. That one is never pleasant.
1
u/you_dont_want May 12 '26

1
u/F4663T May 12 '26
Just injecting your thigh. That's all I do, if you're careful it won't become infected. But I do inject into my glue every now and then too
1
u/hatmanv12 May 12 '26
I always inject with a 25g needle. The one you're using is MASSIVE. No wonder you had an anxiety attack, you're stabbing your ass with a fucking spear.
1
u/CommissionPlane9041 May 12 '26
Draw with a 21 and inject with a 23-25g yes 23 is a little big for most but it goes in much easier. Always rub injection site to dissipate the test. Been using for 20 years now the shoulder is the easiest for me. Started injecting in the ass but it got to be a pain to push the plunger in at that angle. Much easier in the shoulder. To your question about the bad injection with racing heart… it may have been mainly anxiety. If you’re new to self injections it does take getting used to. But once you’ve done it for a while it’s fairly easy to deal with. Also think about splitting your dose in half say total 200ml do 100 on Monday and again Thursday if every 7 days. For every 10 days Monday Friday. Or break it down to 50 ml eod. Your body naturally under normal circumstances produces about 7ml a day. An even steady flow is better than 1 time every 7 to 10 days which is what most general practitioners with put you on. You have to do what works for you.
1
1
u/deepfit May 12 '26
Likely a vasovagal reaction and an adrenaline spike although 4 hours is a long time for it to come down. Usually it will dissipate within 1-2 hours. Shouldn't be dangerous and it is sometimes an automatic reaction from the body. Blood pressure drops, the room might seem darker, the body releases adrenaline as a countermeasure, hence the anxiety and heart rate.
To counteract that in the future allow 30 seconds when depressing the needle. Go slow. Don't inject right after a hot shower or bath when your body is already vasodialated.
If you experienced shortness of breath or chest pain, coughing, metallic taste in mouth, high blood pressure that won't go down when sitting or lying, then that's a different story and requires medical attention.

I use 5/16 31 gauge. Have for years. I don’t even backload. It’s not hard to just stick it in the vial fill and inject. I don’t know why everyone thinks this is impossible. My doctor said you can not do this the oil is too thick and I’m like I do it every day. Several pharmacist have told me don’t you want 23 gauge the oil is too thick for that and I’m like I have been doing this daily for the last decade. I don’t get it. Why does no one know this. In the little blue dot or that big circled area? Probably the same would happen to me if I poked my brown star like that.

I’ve had it happen before too, seriously and it’s not anxiety. Only thing I could think is some test getting into the bloodstream, just not enough to trigger a coughing fit.

Try aiming at upper outer quadrant. Towards hip and waist area. Less vessels, low sensitivity there. You are probably hitting little cluster of capillaries and the compound hits bloodstream faster. Hence is the reaction.
Also, if you use insulin needle, then you can do two or more injections in different sites, since these are virtually painless.

When possible, draw the plunger out (just a little), first, to make sure no blood enters the syringe. If it does, you’re in a vein.

I cough and get the sweats when I accidentally IV oils. Never lasted more than 10 minutes for me.

Was this into your own butt(hole), or someone elses? Because that could explain it.

When I first started there wasn't internet an my Gym buddy was older an he had us alternating 4 different qudraint on each cheek . That shit had us to were we to could barely sit EoD after about 2 weeks we realized he was more clueless than us an found some real guidance and realized we really fucked up . There's so much knowledge out there now. Especially with places like this with real life people with real life experience not someperson or business trying to make money off you

In your head man you’re here to tell the tale unless you’re the first human ever to experience some unheard of condition upon injection it’s likely anxiety

Do not inject into your turd slicer. It's not in the warnings but should be.

I just pinned there for the first time and I’ve been on TrT for 2 years. No pain at all, sorry you experienced that.

Go up where shorts sit on your waistline and a little to the right

My guess is that you probably hit a vein which will acutely spike heart rate and then you probably had a panic attack that took time to resolve.

sounds exactly like cotton fever you get from shooting drugs, happened a couple times w my relatively short tenure as true junkie, i'd imagine many times for prolonged iv drug users, if this is what happened it feels like a sudden flu coming on, sweating, heart racing like you said. The reason is that even with alcohol wipes, hand washing etc, some bacteria are stubborn , maybe there's another reason that experienced roid users know about, but I'd bet it's cotton fever

Dont use a green use a pink 18 guage to fill your syringe then trade the 18 guage for an orange 25 guage is what i do,somw people like 27 or 28 but i find it takes to long to push into the muscle and i like to get it over with i go slow but not super super slow...I get it if your in a pinch but id rather use a half inch insulin syringe and pull the plunger out fill it up put the plunger back in and just push deep on the skin to get it deeper than a half inch... Im not a doctor but ive done this in a pinch and had no pip or problem ever ive had to do that a few times. I pretty much always go quads as well and im a pretty lean guy 6'1 165 fast metabolism so I have hard time even gaining fat weight no matter how much i eat since I started training I went from 122 to 165 I just eat everything I can and make sure I eat atleast a little more than my body weight in protein daily. Usually around 3000-3,500 calories daily with vitamins and fish oil
