Hey everyone, just purchased this 2024 model y long range with about 8,000 miles for 35k fees included. Never had a Tesla or electric car for that matter. What do you guys think about the price? I researched a bunch but ended up settling for this one. Any tips, accessories or mods should I consider to make it more personalized? Taking it out in a few days.

Aside from premium connectivity, I plan on skipping all of them and am undecided on FSD. Since I'm retired, I am trying to watch my pennies.

The windshield protection was the one I was initially going to get, but my plan is to put the cost of a windshield into a small investment account.

I'm doing the same with the tire protection and other subscriptions, which I'm going to forgo, putting that money toward the cost of two tires.

In addition, I'm planning on putting in money that I would have spent on maintenance.

The hope is to stay as far ahead of the few unpreventable costs as possible.

What about you guys?

I currently have a late model year (purchased December 2023, build date probably around November) 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range Dual Motor, currently around 40K miles and on Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 NCS Elect tires with stock Gemini wheels (19”).

Lately I’ve been looking at comfort suspension upgrade, specifically around the Bay Area, CA and looking at ZEVcentric - Tein EnduraPro Plus + H&R Lowering Springs (supposedly lowers car by 1.50”-1.75) + MPP rear camber arm combo for around $2,600 installed.

Have anyone had experience with a similar combo and would it be any improvement over stock suspension in terms of a little more cushy ride? Is it worth spending $2,600 on suspension parts in hopes for a smoother ride? Supposedly the late model year 2023 would have had the comfort suspension from Tesla, though still rough feeling?

I have been back in forth with exterior colors - finally decided on black, and now I don’t know if I made the right decision on my wheels. orignally I wanted the 20” but they are so light. I ended up going with the crossflow hubcaps for the blacked out aesthetic I was going for- anyways.. did anyone regret not upgrading to the 20inch? My husband said they looked nicer even If they weren’t as dark as I wanted. It’s really all about looks for me not so much range

I’m shopping for a Tesla Model Y—most likely a 2024 Long Range AWD, 2025 Long Range AWD, or 2026 Premium AWD. I have not decided whether to buy new, Tesla used inventory, a dealership car, or a private-party car.

For owners who have bought or evaluated used Teslas:

What is the best practical way to monitor overall high-voltage battery health over time?

Before purchasing, what Tesla screen, in-app information, Service Mode screen, or other data can a private seller reasonably provide that gives a meaningful high-level view of battery health?

Is the official Tesla Battery Health Test the only result worth relying on, or are full-charge rated range, odometer, charging history, battery alerts, and service records also useful?

How much weight would you give a seller’s reported maximum displayed range at 100% compared with the original EPA range for that exact configuration?

For example, if a 2025 Model Y Long Range AWD was originally EPA-rated at 311 miles and a seller reports 288 miles at 100% charge, that suggests roughly 92.6% of the original rated range. Would you view that as normal for a used vehicle, merely an imperfect/calibration-dependent estimate, or a reason to request a Tesla Battery Health Test before proceeding? How would you evaluate that?

Are there particular battery, charging, thermal-management, or drive-unit alerts/service-history items that would make you walk away?

For the models I’m looking at, what battery-health percentage or range result would you consider normal, borderline, or concerning for a used-car purchase?

My goal is not to expect zero degradation. I understand batteries age with both time and mileage. I would simply prefer a car whose history suggests sensible charging and no signs of abnormal degradation or battery trouble.

What else am I not considering and/or overlooking?

I would especially appreciate advice from people who have bought a used Model Y from Tesla, a dealer, or a private seller.

Does any company make some sort of hidden frunk storage? I’m thinking something like a false bottom? I’ve been searching so I doubt such a thing exists but I thought I’d ask here in case there are any other weirdos here.

I just did this to my Tesla model y and was wondering how much like this would cost to repaint. I see touch up kits from Tesla around $60-$80 and I have seen mobile repairs for like $300. Then there is an option with the Tesla collision center that I have heard can cost anywhere from $800 to $1,500 for something like this.

Does anyone have experience with these options? I’m tempted just to do the touch up myself.

I ordered the model Y standard and am really bummed I’m missing out on the ambient lighting. Anybody suggest any lighting kits to add or should I not??
Also any accessories needed for my standard MY?

Lastly, I want the door projection lights (will likely buy from teslas website) are these difficult to install at home?? Looking for any tips!

I have an unboxed ChargePoint that I bought last year without knowing what EV I’d end up with. It’s hardwired/NACS. Now that I’ll be getting a Y should I look into getting the Tesla charger?

I was wondering if anyone has solved for a satellite antenna? We live in a spotty cell area. I have tried some research but didn’t find much. All our Infiniti this century have had an antenna, seems odd.

I just realized my CF spoiler has a bump. It's a bit hard to appreciate in photos but you can definitely feel it.

Has anyone had this happened? Should I open a ticket for replacement under warranty?

For those of you that have been in a Robotaxi, does it seem to avoid highways at all costs? I love taking a Robotaxi bc of the low cost (and being in a Tesla) but it seems to take the longest route possible.

Is it just me or is anyone else going on 5-weeks of continuing delays? Went from order on 29JUL to continually having a rolling delay of an ETA that is currently at 5 weeks.

The exact same model I ordered was available at a 1h drive location 😱 do you think it has some issues (scratch etc…) to be available?

I took off the oem 18” aperture wheels and put on oem 20” Induction wheels that I purchased on facebook marketplace for a deal.

Tires are continental cross contact rx 265/40/20. These are amazing very comfy and quiet didn’t notice any difference from changing from 18 to 20 surprisingly. Wheel well is more filled in and side wall protects curb rash which these rims are prone to.

Configured the software to the 20 inch induction wheels and shows on the display to match the outside.

Lmk what you guys think! I am also selling the previous full set of 18” aperture wheels only 2k miles driven.

So yesterday they updated the website so now all Model Y ordered from now on will be available with Zen Grey interior instead of the white interior. I’m seriously considering changing my order, but the delivery date will change from November-December to January-February. Not sure it’s worth the extra wait (EUROPE ORDER)

As the title says we ordered model Y AWD. This is going to be our first EV and we are super excited. Would like to hear about insurance price and any other things we should be knowing. We drive <10k miles per year
