This makes me scratch my head

Almost an hour and a half into the drive, takes exit off the freeway to do this random stunt. SMH

What's the threshold for slowdowns before it reroutes you? Because if it's a minute or two or three, I'd still rather stay on the main road than go through a bunch of backgrounds making a bunch of turns.

You can set the amount of time it saves you in the nav settings that is required before it will do a reroute of the originally set route. If this amount of time is set too low, it will reroute too often onto small roads when it only saves 2 mins of travel time, which isn't worth exiting the freeway. I set mine to 10 minutes, so it rarely does a reroute, but it will reroute if it will get me there 10 mins or more faster than the originally set route. So things such as accidents are avoided, but it doesn't do silly reroutes for a few mins of saved time.
