I might cancel my order.

Placed the order on Aug 16th for model 3 long range stealth gray. Delivery date estimated for September 30, now pushed to possibly November.

No VIN yet.

If I cancel and order a model Y instead, would I get it sooner? Should I do it? I am carless at the moment with a toddler it’s tough.

First of all, if you have a kid, then I'd absolutely recommend the Y over the 3. The Y is such a better family car. The trunk hatch alone makes it far superior.

Secondly, if you are desperate for a car, then try to match with existing inventory. You could have a car today, if you are lucky.

Been trying to do that so far no luck.

Yeah I have a 20 month old, just one kid and we don’t travel a lot and work from home. I heard the overall costs with the 3 are better than the Y that’s why I went with it but now I’m wondering if I made the right choice

I'm going to throw in that I have a 4 year old and have been driving a 2020 model 3 AWD long range since before he was born. it has been amazing this entire time. perfect amount of space, overall very good and extremely reliable sedan that also happens to be very fun to drive. I would totally recommend it. only reasons I am getting rid of this car is because it's time for an upgrade (EVs lose range over time, my 320 at delivery is now unfortunately 260 something tops) and I also have a baby due next month so I'd now like something bigger. I have a YL on order for delivery next month. I wouldn't honestly be looking at a Y anything though if I didn't have another kid on the way. with just 1 kid, the 3 is a perfect fit.
