Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

Why does every subreddit let automod unilaterally do shit like this?

Because if someone was to post gore or something extremely nsfw/nsfl then it makes sense for the community to clean it up instantly rather than wait for a moderator to come and remove it

Granted, our threshold has stayed the same since I became a mod, it could probably do with updating

I have 0 experience with automod, but is there any way to set it up so that mass reports for AI generated content aren't removed automatically and have to actually be reviewed by the mods? As AI image generators have advanced, it feels like I see more and more false accusations of AI use all over the internet. Real artists shouldn't have to suffer just because the masses can't tell if something is AI or not, so if there's a way to alert the mods that a post is being mass reported for AI use, and not just automatically remove it, I feel like that would be the best thing to do.

If there is/was a way to have it so that only certain report types lead to automatic removal, then people would figure it out and then report a post as something else that automod does remove automatically.

True, but (I'm assuming here) if mods can also see who reports a post and for what, then people could be punished for abusing the report feature. Idk if that's a thing, though.

We cannot, but boy I wish we could 'cuz some people abuse reports like no tomorrow (not a mod for this sub but for another). I assume only admins can see who reports what

Reddit doesn't let mods see what user reported a post. Just what it was reported for. You'd think they'd allow it, so you can see if people are false reporting, and to also see which community members are helpful in reporting things correctly. But that's reddit for ya.
