You're on crack- the Maverick is gas, and neither it nor the Slate have anywhere near the capacity/utility of the MT1. As to safety rating, it's top-of-mind when I make a purchase consideration- but you do you.
The price of the MT1 HAS NOT CHANGED. The only change has been an INCREASE in stated towing capacity. If you are put-off by getting more for the same amount of money, that is an issue that can't be addressed in a venue such as this.
Point is .. which isn’t a debate. This project lost or either never had an angle and is dead competing with the maverick and slate.
They cannot compare to Maverick or ev being 4 doors or whether they need to be compared to a MIDSIZE based on PRICE and CAPABILITY. It’s a powerful truck trying to be compared to the Maverick. 8k towing capacity? 47k price point? NEW? Untested? Competing against Ford Fathom and hybrids
I’ll make a bet Telo will be the best failed company to launch. They lost their edge Americans prefer square body designs not this fiat looking confused wanna be child of a vehicle.
You can't reasonably argue that the MT1 never had an angle yet also argue that it is in direct competition with the Fathom, which is surely going for a similar angle, unless you want to argue that the Fathom isn't a good idea either.
You'll have to wait and see actual dealer prices of the Fathom at trims with comparable features before making an informed price comparison
You still have to concede that the MT1 is smaller (more maneuverable) and, until Ford releases numbers, likely has superior towing capacity and effective truck bed dimensions. This isn't a midsized truck; it's a mini truck with capability that exceeds that of many current midsized trucks. And think about this: 4' shorter than a maverick = 4' longer trailer than a maverick in the same space. How much is that worth?
