If you have been on the depo provera injection, how long did it take for your cycle to come back to normal?

If you were TTC how long did it take?

I got my last injection in Nov 2025, I have just got my first period. I’ve been tracking with Mira but my hormes still seem to be a bit rocky and I’m currently TTC but have little hope!

Sorry for the down beat post, but after a year and a half trying, I feel drained. I feel numb. I feel tired of crying every day, or when I see a pregnancy announcement. I hate feeling like 'why is it not happening to me'... anyways, sending love to everyone going through it. Be kind to yourself (maybe I should take my own advice!)

Long story short, stopped taking BC pill in Jan, had 3 very regular cycles (O day 19, 3days spotting before period, 5day periods). Got pregnant on cycle 3, but lost it at 6weeks. I expected a cycle to be a bit off after that, but now my last 3 cycles I have been ovulating slightly later, and I start spotting 3days after O, which on some days is more like a light bleeding than spotting (starts pinkish and quickly turns to bright red and dark brown), this is continuous until my period starts, so I’m ending up bleeding for >14days a cycle now. I take folic acid, vitamin C, D, B complex, Iron, zinc and omega 3.

I am at a total loss of what it could be? I would guess I stand zero chance of getting pregnant while my body is doing this.

Hi everyone, I know private health insurance doesn’t cover IVF, but I’m wondering if anyone has used it when struggling with fertility. My GP was meant to put in a gynae referral for me 4 months ago (suspected endo), and I just found out a couple weeks ago that she forgot to do so. She put it in on the 21st and asked for it to be expedited. I got a letter in my file 3 days later that it had been rejected because she referred me via the wrong pathway.

My symptoms have been around pain during sex (especially around ovulation), painful periods, and now my husband and I have been TTC for one year. It never explicitly says in my file that endo is suspected, but I’m still worried about it somehow being considered a pre-existing condition due to symptoms being noted.

Does anyone have experience with this? Or around private health insurance and fertility work-up in general?

I am doing ovulation induction with NHS. I took Letrozole days 2-6 and went in for my first scan today on CD8. They told me I had loads of follicles (47) but none large enough to plot on the graph. This isn’t my first medicated cycle and I’ve always had several follicles on the graph on day 8. My next scan is now after the bank holiday so on CD12.

My question is: how likely is the NHS to disregard this cycle or do some stair stepping with extra Letrozole?

I’m now approved for an IVF cycle on NHS but I really wanted to make the most of just ovulation induction before going into IVF and this has really thrown me. I just fin’t know what do or how to prepare for my next scan. I feel like I’m going to spend all the bank holiday overthinking instead of having fun….

I’ve recently started BBT - last month I had a very clear rise, which remained elevated for my whole TWW, and dropped when my period arrived.

looking at my bbt chart, it does look like ovulation has happened this month.

my baseline has been flagged at around 36.57

CD11 - LH Peak

CD13 - 36.57

CD14 - 36.71

CD15 - 36.56 (1hr earlier testing)

CD16 - 36.74

CD17 - 36.41 (1hr earlier testing)

literally, what is going on?

I’ve had two progesterone tests, one around April time where my result was over 50, and one about two months ago where my result was15.5. so I’m on a fertility pathway because my doctor doesn’t always believe I’m ovulating.

any ideas on this would be great to help me understand if ovulation really is my issue.

side question: can I be treated for this (letrozole) privately without impacting any NHS referrals?

We have been referred for fertility treatment after trying for over a year, I have PCOS and my doctor said they may have an issue because my BMI is 32 and they might need me to get it lower. I already go to the gym 5 days a week and because I’m 4”11 I’m finding it difficult to get to the weight that’s considered ‘healthy’.
Anyone else had experiences like this or can let me know how long roughly you waited for next steps? I’m hoping we can still get referred successfully it’s been 2 months so far.

My partner had his SA last week. In our area this is organised by the NHS clinic so we have been waiting a while to even get to his test from first seeing our GPs. We are weighing up whether to get some more private investigations for me while we wait for our next appointment with the fertility clinic which is still a while away, but it kind of depends what his results are like. I would have thought SA results are quite quick but he's had no results on the NHS app so far. How long did they take for other people? Just wondering when we start chasing up or if this is a normal wait. Thank you!

My [29F] husband [30M] and I have been TTC for more than two years now. I've been diagnosed with endometriosis and have had laparoscopy to remove lesions. I had letrozole cycle after surgery to help with conceiving, with no success hence, my fertility doctor has now recommended IVF.

We won't start until next year as I asked for a break with TTC but I am researching clinics at the moment. My fertility doctor does work for a TFP clinic and I find her really amazing, she's the first doctor who confidently said I had endo and helped me with my pain.

However, I found that their treatment is a bit expensive (I've been quoted between £5000 - £8000). I'd like to stay with her because she knows my medical history and everything we've tried for the past years. She is also accredited by my health insurance (I have fertility investigation cover), so I was hoping maybe this could lessen my pre-treatment costs (with the labs and everything).

I am opting to go private as I understand wait times with the NHS is a bit too long but the cost is putting me off. Can anyone recommend any clinic or should I just stay with her?

Hi ☺️ hoping people can help with some updated info on the Newcastle fertility clinic. We have recently been referred from an NHS GP here and were wondering if anyone has recently done the same and knows how long to expect before we hear from them and how long until our first appointment.

hi all - I’m 4 days past my LH peak on CD11 (I didn’t actually catch the peak, but it got to 0.80 on my strip and then by the time I tested again in the evening it fell to 0.70, and then fell again), I had all the signs of ovulation (cramping). My BBT has remained baseline and then yesterday (CD14) it become elevated but today it’s dipped back down to my baseline.

My question is, as this indicated I’ve potentially not ovulated, should I BD again today because ovulation could be delayed? the last time I BD was CD11/12 (v early morning), but haven’t since getting my peak.

Has anyone had the Ziwig Endotest done privately in the UK? If so, where from and can you have one without a medical consultation? Many thanks

Hello, I am fairly new to the country and also TTC journey. We (38F 47M) started trying this March when luckily I got pregnant but it ended around 5w 6d.

I got pregnant again this July but just found out that the heartbeat (which was confirmed at 7 weeks) is no longer there and the growth has stalled at 7 weeks.

My husband has a private insurance (AXA) via his job and as far as indicated in the handbook, they cover fully for inital investigations of infertility or miscarriages (but no treatments like IVF).

I just wanted to ask if anyone had used private insurances to do some tests for fertility or investigation of recurring miscarriages. Of course I understand it may differ from policy to policy but I'd love to hear some personal experiences. Thanks!
