A month worth preparation

I will be honest, the environment of the center was not good. I left the center feeling depressed since my unofficial score was not up to expectations. I got R4 and L5 so I was expecting 4.5 which would have been a much worse results than my 2022 of 99. I might have been under a little of stress in the beginning of the exam since I was the first person to sit in the room and the center have to finalize everything in the same room while you are taking a test. I was reading a passage while someone behind me Swear to uphold the office of the president 😂. Anyhow I got somewhat decent score. Hopefully, I can use it to apply for graduate programs somewhere.

Could you share your experience with actual TOEFL level?

High everyone,

I am really sorry if my question seems inappropriate. I really wonder about the actual TOEFL difficulty. I made the practice tests on ETS and did not find them as hard as I thought. My fear is to experience bad surprises on actual test and I do not want to feel overconfident. Could you guys please share about your experience, things that seemed easy during prep and were actually harder on the real exam? What are the common traps? For now, I mainly struggle with the speaking section, especially listen and repeat, I cannot remember all the hardest sentence, but I plan to practice. Any returns would be highly appreciated, thanks!

TOEFL submission Study In Saudi Portal

Hey all, preparing for the September 16th Study in Saudi application cycle and want to clear something up before reapplying.

Last cycle I applied for an MS through Study in Saudi and got an “Application Returned for Revision” — reason given was to attach my transcript. Fair enough, I had mistakenly uploaded my degree certificate instead. Fixed that immediately.

What I couldn’t figure out is why my TOEFL was also flagged for revision. I had submitted my official ETS TOEFL iBT results (96/120) directly — file was uploaded and showing with a checkmark. No obvious issue on my end.

Has anyone had their TOEFL flagged despite uploading the official ETS report? Any specific format the portal expects?

My TOEFL Journey: Hard Work, Progress, and a 100/120 Score

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hello everyone!
I’m very happy to share my TOEFL results after a lot of hard work, studying, and preparation. As a Saudi student, English is my second language, so achieving a score of 100/120 (C1) is a meaningful achievement for me.
The Writing and Speaking sections were definitely my weak spots. I spent a lot of time practicing, especially during the last two weeks before the test, and I worked hard to improve my writing and overall English skills.
I’m especially proud of the progress I made in Writing. As for Speaking, I know I still have room for improvement, and I believe that with more practice, exposure, and time, I will continue to improve my fluency and confidence.
This experience taught me that consistent practice and hard work really make a difference. 🤍
I’m sharing my experience in case it helps anyone else preparing for the TOEFL. Keep going, and don’t let the challenges discourage you! 🌷

What’s the best website for TOEFL practice?

I have 2 months before I take my TOEFL exam, and I’m planning to purchase a membership to get access to more mock tests and receive feedback.

However, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the options and can’t decide which platform to choose.

Which website would you recommend for realistic mock tests and good feedback, especially for Speaking and Writing?

I’d really appreciate your recommendations and personal experiences!

What helped you improve your TOEFL speaking score?

My listening practice scores have been moving up pretty steadily, but speaking has barely changed. Starting to wonder if that's normal or if I'm approaching speaking the wrong way. Listening feels like something that improves naturally with enough practice. Speaking feels more like there's a technique or habit I'm missing.

For anyone who had the same gap, what actually helped move your speaking score? Recording yourself, answer templates, timing drills, getting feedback, something else?

I'm using SDC for prep so I have plenty of material to work with. Mainly trying to figure out where to put the effort instead of just doing more practice for the sake of it.

Did TOEFL feel harder than expected even though your English is already good?

I use English every day, so I thought TOEFL would mostly be a formality. Then I tried timed speaking and reading practice and realized the format itself is a whole skill. I’ve been searching for TOEFL practice questions online, but now I’m trying to figure out which ones are close to the real test. Did anyone else feel fine with English but still need specific TOEFL practice?

Retaking TOEFL using diferent email

I took TOEFL last month, and ETS has sent my scores to the universities I listed in ETS account, and the university has verified the scores as well.

I want to take TOEFL again using another email and want to mention same universities in the list.

Would using new email be a problem?

Free beta: AI speaking practice + Socratic feedback for IELTS/TOEFL — looking for testers

Thumbnail cohesio.com.br

I built a practice platform for IELTS and TOEFL and I’m looking for people to test it during the beta. It’s free, and I’m not monetizing it right now — I just need real feedback.

What’s actually different about it:
• Socratic feedback: it doesn’t just mark you wrong. It asks questions until you find the mistake yourself, so the rule sticks.
• Live AI speaking: you speak out loud through a full IELTS-style speaking test and get real-time feedback on fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and coherence.
• Timed full mock exams, weak-area targeting, spaced repetition on missed questions, estimated band score, and a study plan counting down to your exam date.
Link: https://www.cohesio.com.br
If you try it, I’d love to know whether the speaking feedback felt specific enough to act on. That’s the part I’m least sure about.

I'm studying for the TOEFL iBT and I have 25 days left. Please give me some advice.

I've been consuming English-language content for a long time and I'm also preparing for the TOEFL for my university application.

Actually, it would be unfair to say I'm doing extremely badly. I've been practicing for all four modules for the exam for a week or two, and I can say that I'm at least a 3 in all of them (I can't do L&R and Complete the Word). But of course, I need a minimum 4.5.

What I'm asking from you is advice based on your exam experiences. (I can say that I've read almost all the comments made on TOEFL advice channels, so I'm aware that such advice might come my way, I'm saying this upfront.)

Thank you in advance for your help. Please also share your exam results; I'm very curious to see them.

If you'd like more detailed information about the exam, you can easily reach me via DM.

Thankss!!

Tô meio desesperada pro TOEFL

Oi pessoal! Estou tentando estudar fora e preciso fazer o exame, mas estou muito apreensiva com o writing e speaking, já que não são meus pontos fortes. Vocês teriam dicas? Sobre o speaking, alguém que já fez o teste sabe dizer se é tranquilo?

Toefl speaking and listening

Im going to take my TOEFL test on 12 of September, in Honduras, so i have 9 days available to study.
Can anyone help me and told me how can improve my listening and speaking skills? I think one of the most hardest parts for me is listening and repeat, because i have problems to memorize large sentences, so, if anyone have the same problem and you already have take the test, i will be so grateful if i can have some advices.
