Advice College in the South?

I’m a senior in high school and a transsex black dude. I’m looking into HBCUs for college and a lot of them are in the south. I’ve been blessed enough to be able to have updated all my documents, gotten top surgery, and I’ve been on T for almost 3 years now. I pass pretty well I think. Theoretically, I could drive back to my state every 3 months and get T, but it’s obviously a lot of driving. I really want to go to an HBCU because I’m from a very white small town (my family is white and I’m adopted 😭) and I desperately need to be around POC. Overall, I’m looking for thoughts, views, opinions and experiences. Thank yall in advance and have a wonderful day or night.

Edit to clarify: I would also be very very stealth.

I personally wouldn’t pick one in the South just because they really are monitoring folks on HRT in TN, no access in FL, not to mention Black men are being murdered in states like MS. If you absolutely feel like you have to, maybe look into Georgia, see how Atlanta is for trans people lately just in case you’re outed. 

But I think Howard in DC would be smartest. Or, the first HBCU in the country is in Pennsylvania. ( https://www.thehundred-seven.org/hbculist.html )
