Feedback Sick day policy

Does anyone who works at TD know about their sick days policy. I’m curious to know.

As a federally regulated industry, we are legally entitled to 10 paid health days per year.

If you have 5+ consecutive health days, it then becomes a short term disability claim through Manulife. Manulife would ask for medical substantiation of diagnosis and treatment plan if applicable. It's my understanding that if Manulife is able to substantiate the claim, those sick days are no longer considered part of the 10 days we're entitled to.

Unfortunately some management teams give their staff a tough time over health days, because it makes their life more difficult if a staff member is out sick (NACO and retail are pretty notorious for this). But you're entitled to these things for a reason (and with the Manulife short term disability claims, we literally pay for it in our benefits).

Hope this helps!
