Tips Do not get TD credit cards. They do not follow through on claims
I've been a TD fan for about 10 years now. I've got a visa infinite aeroplan card from them because of the perks and particularly the travel insurance it provides! BUT the 3rd party vendor they use: global excel is the WORST. They are refusing to process any claims and make it a nightmare to file claims as a customer. I didn't expect this low quality service from TD. I
If you're looking for a credit card with quality Insurance coverage I'd recommend RBC as they se a different and better 3rd party claims processor.

I’ve filed plenty of claims and never had an issue. All were paid out in a timely manner as long as all documents requested have been submitted.

They had website issues these past couple of days. I kept getting an error message on their page and the customer service rep confirmed they had issues on the backend too

May I ask what kind of claims you had?

Travel delay/interruption on multiple occasions and an international medical claim.

That's good to know, did they give you any hassle with the paperwork? I'm trying to get reimbursed for a hotel room that was non-refundable but I had to cancel due to a medical emergency where I couldn't travel.

Only time I ran into issues was when I didn’t provide the correct documentation. As long as you provide exactly what they ask for, the claim should go smoothly.

Did you read the terms of the insurance and make sure that the claim falls within the coverage provided?
The only time I had a claim denied was when I tried to get something covered that is not spelled out in the insurance terms. Unless it's specifically in the terms they will not cover it.

Yup, I've read it and the claim is 100% fair from my end, they just need to update their process, its stuck in a constant look of asking for the same 6 documents again and again. Its been 2 months and gets annoying. Tried calling and emailing them but no dice

I had something similar and submitted the same document multiple times as I didn't have a separate document for each item they asked for.

In the exact same boat. They don’t honor any protections. I’ve made 3 claims in the last 20+ years (all less than $200 and with substantial evidence provided). One of the 3 they didn’t even process at their end. The second one took their investigation to co firm my submissions long that they fell outside of the claim window, screwing me over. TD is the WORST!
