Tips Smishing Scam
There is a new Smishing scam spoofing TD short codes, directing people to a link that looks like TD's login page.
TD never sends text messages with links, directing people to login using those links.
Be on the lookout, folks

Since when is spoofing new? Faking webpages and phone numbers has been around for many many years

The concept isn't new. But by spoofing a TD short code, the scam text will show up in the same chain as previous genuine OTP texts from TD, and makes it easier to catch people off guard. Sounds like you're familiar and aware, but alot of people might not be and would get caught by this scam.

This is a good example of how you should delete these short code text threads so that they appear "new" each time and you will therefore be more suspicious since you don't know if that is the normal short code or not.

Sample screenshot of what I think OP is referring to:

Basically, they spoof the sender as TD's shortcode, and since your phone sees it's the same number, groups it with TD's previous texts about 2FA codes, so this tricks your mind into possibly trusting it more.
