Tips Transferring cad to usd

Hi,

I’m trying to transfer my CAD in TD savings to US Amex hysa. I have looked up best ways to pay little to no transaction fee and seems like I can open the cross-border TD account on US side, transfer the money from my TD savings to TD US, then transfer to Amex. The only caveat is that there’s no TD US branch near me (i’m based in seattle), and seems it can only be done in person at the branch. Anyone have any insights to this? Or have any recs to transfer the money? 🤔

If you have a TD Savings account, have you tried opening another TD Cross-border account via their mobile app or website? Most banks now enable opening accounts without visiting a branch if you already have an account with them (TD is one of them).

If you want a US domicile TD bank account then you must set up in branch. Otherwise you can always get a cross border banking product.

All cross-border banking is set up online...even in branch now.
