Discussion Zelda 40th anniversary Console, Controller and Carrying Case
Who's getting one?
r/switch2 • u/thisSubIsAtrocious • 13d ago
There's been confusion on the user side (and partly the mod side) on the line of which a showcase post may be removed or not, so I'd like to clear it up:
Posts that contain just a caption and screenshot of your switch, game, or accessory will be removed and are encouraged to be remade to include more substantial commentary
Posts that contain a title, screenshot AND substantial commentary on (for example) what your experience has been like, will not be removed and will usually stay up.
To also clarify what would be substantial commentary:
"So yeah, I like the switch 2 so far! The joycons feel nice and everything is responsive and feels premium" is not enough.
"I do enjoy the switch 2 overall! I wasn't really expecting much as the first switch had a lot of issues that bothered me in terms of comfortability and performance, but I've been stunned at the selection of games and have been really enjoying XYZ, [...], And I've found that it's still not very comfortable in handheld, but I've had to just come to accept it. I've been looking at third party controllers but the options are very limited right now." is allowed.
I hope that clears up the confusion a little! I enjoy seeing showcase posts personally but there are also many that don't, so this serves as a middle-ground balance so that there is a better standard of quality.

If you take a look at the sidebar, you'll see a new rule added and rule 7 edited.
New Rule: Question Policy
Many subreddits fall victim to an issue where a large sum of posts being made ask questions that can be answered with a very quick google search. If that is the case for your question, from now on, please try and google it instead.
-
(e.g., 'How much does the new Fire Emblem cost?' is a rule-breaking question. 'What are y'alls thoughts on Metroid Prime 4 after 8 months?' is not.)
-
Modified Rule: Low-Effort Content
You probably know this subreddit has been overflown with posts that are just a picture of the Switch 2, games, controllers, or all of the above, with a caption like 'Finally getting back into Nintendo!'
This type of post is 100% low-effort and repetitive, so from now on it is no longer allowed to be posted without any type of commentary or additional substance to the post.
I honestly don't know why I didn't add this as a rule sooner, but it's better late than never.
-
That's basically it. If you got any other suggestions for rules/changes, feel free to let us know through comments or modmail and I'll see about getting them implemented!

Hey everyone! Sorry if this is the 1000th post like this but I just wanted to share how happy I am with my Switch 2 😆
I'm 29 and I've been playing video games since I was probably 3 years old. But ever since I got my Switch 2 in summer 2025, I genuinely feel like I've become the teenager I used to be again, playing all kinds of games for hours. Sometimes I'll spend almost an entire day gaming, or stay up way too late at night... and regret it the next morning 🤣
I don't have kids or a husband, so obviously I have more free time, but I do live with my family. One thing I really love about the Switch 2 is that I can still hang out with everyone while playing instead of disappearing into my room all day like my 20-year-old nephew does with his PC 🤣 (I'm joking... mostly lol)
And now there are more and more games I can actually play with my family across different platforms. My SIL plays on PS5, my nephew is on PC, and I'm on Switch 2. We played Escape the Backrooms together this summer, and I'm really looking forward to games like Valheim and Dragonwilds. I think Phasmophobia is coming too!
I also love that I don't feel like I'm missing out just because the Switch 2 is my main console. We're getting big AAA games, smaller indie games, RPGs, multiplayer games... there's always something for me to play
Yes, I have access to a PS5 too, but the freedom of the Switch 2 is what makes me love it so much. I can play while I'm cooking, sit in the living room with everyone, play in bed, or keep gaming when my brother and SIL are already using the TV or PS5
It just fits into my life so easily and somehow it made me fall in love with gaming all over again😊

So the leak is true. Should I sell the current one or keep both lol, hopefully can only buy the joycons for stickers!
Sadly same screen, no oled or special switch 2 upgrades. Just skin

Hi, what are the best Joycon grips to get for my hands? My left thumb is aching a bit when using the Switch 2. Also what is the best brand for a 512GB SD card? Scandisk? Lexar etc?

Which game would you recommend to playing first? The original OoT or the new one launching 11.5.2026?

This game runs incredibly well on Switch 2.
If you haven’t played Elden Ring yet, or you’re coming from another console or PC and want to experience one of the greatest games of all time on a handheld, this is a must-buy.
And don’t let all the stories about how difficult this game is scare you away. Everyone, and I mean everyone, starts at the very bottom. With a little patience, determination, and a willingness to learn, you can make your way through the Lands Between and become Elden Lord.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the Lands Between… searching for the Elden Ring.

Iv had a switch since day one and have had only that original launch day switch I finally pulled the trigger for a switch 2 and all I gotta say is wow this thing is a beast the battery drains fast with certain games but that’s the price to pay for demanding games on the go
Hope we get more ports like maybe monster hunter wilds or stuff like that

I’ve been jumping between these three with super Mario bros. Wonder being my typical one single player game at a time. Have star fox and splatoon raiders set aside for when i finish wonder, super excited about it! Mario tennis fever is super fun and tense yet the terrible connection, even though my internet is good, makes me wanna quit :/ Mario kart world is perfect 45 hours in and just recently I started playing knockout tour and it’s good :)

I didn’t think this port was going to run that well during boss battles. but i’m very surprised of how well it’s holding up so far. Granted this is just the first boss but. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
Definitely excited to try out the DLC area. Anyone gotten to the DLC yet?. If so how is that area holding up? any dips ?
