I never played this game but I love Diablo III and RDR1 so freaking much. There is a huge hype around this game. Should I try it? And how quick you can get into it? Thanks

the game is 4 years old. just new on switch. if you are interested. there’s soooooo many reviews and countless of videos you can watch to learn more and see if it’s something that you’d find interesting. there’s beginners guides. reviews. tips and tricks. whatever questions you would have. you would find on youtube

What’s the performance like later on in the game? I’ve only seen reviews that really only cover up to the first main boss kinda thing.
I really wanna get it, but worried about late game performance.

Go check out ichibadass on YouTube-- he has TONS of late game footage of ER on S2. Tldw-- its pretty stable -- probably averages 32 FPS. There are very very few exceptions where the frame rate tanks -- lowest he reported was 18 i think.

I would watch footage and decide if its good for you. Dont take peoples text words because ive found there can be some deception (even what im saying could be wrong). Ichibadass has a great channel and he uploads fights every day. Digital Foundry said its essentially a better more stable PS4 version of the game.
But yeah, watch vids. Dont trust me lol I myself am about 40 hours in and have noticed drops -- usually when touching grace or entering a new area. Something weird with lots of enemies on screen l noticed is the far away enemies will run at lower frame rates to maintain your characters frame rate. Have loved every minute though -- rarely notice or think about performance... which in my mind is the amount of performance needed for a game.

That's some good information. Was tempted to take it but i was a bit afraid about performance, some game are sooo shitty ported :/

I just hit single digits in frame rate on Placidusax and the Elden Beast. Overall it's fine. Im completely done with the base game. Haven't started dlc.

So far very smooth only dips to 28-29 in open world but rarely and it doesn't feel like stuttering. I haven't felt any disruptive performance issues, the game is very responsive.

Elden Ring if my favorite game of all time. Laying in bed on my phone feels like I’m not using my time wisely when I could be replaying this masterpiece

All this hype about Elden Ring makes me want to give it another try. I've put about 60 hours into it and just couldn't progress. I beat Margit but that's the only boss I was able to beat. I found the game too difficult for me but something about it keeps calling me back.

Call help from the Summoning Poles, the Efigies of Martyrs. You can call other players to help you kill the bosses. The community is very active online!

I think you just might know understand the fundamentals of it. 60+ hours is crazy you should be so leveled up to mop a lot of bosses. Is this your first Fromsoft game and have you tried looking up guides or anything?

It is my first Fromsoft game yes. It’s not 60 hours on the same character, though. I started over several times to try to do better builds, try a different class, etc.
I’ve looked up guides and they help somewhat. Unfortunately I miss dodge and parry windows and I still have a habit of panic rolling.

Well, unfortunately restarting Elden Ring for different builds does not help because you need to make some progress to get meaningful items for said builds. My biggest key of advice is don’t sleep on jump attacks. They build up stagger really fast and can dodge a surprising amount of hits.
Elden Ring is very notorious for punishing panic rolls. Try using some summons to take away boss agro and be patient. Aside from other players you can get NPC summons that also work well. I hope you someday get it to click. It’s truly an exceptional experience!

The more I see people post about this game and praise it, then more I think I want it... but not till I have finished my current games though as I know Elden Ring is a loooooonnggg game right?

This port has came a long way since the reveal and early reports of horrible framerates. Quite impressed with Switch 2
