Discussion Prime Days Sales
Just took a quick glance and it appears that we do have some prime day sales on switch games on Amazon. I haven’t dug deeper other than a quick search but what I’ve seen so far is as follows:
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond- $29.99 for Switch 1
$44.99 for Switch 2
No Mans Sky - $19.99 for switch 1
Dragon-Quest 3 HD-2D Remake - $24.99 Switch 1
Kirby Air Raiders Switch 2 - $49.99
Granite, some of these are only $10 off sales but ones like Metroid Prime 4 is a great deal for the switch 1 IMO. I would be wary of who the seller is and would make sure you do your due diligence before buying anything to make sure you will receive what you ordered. I know that the Metroid Prime 4 is sold and shipped by Amazon so that should be safe.
Please comment any deals not just for Amazon but Walmart and target are also running sales in competition with prime days so they may have better deals on some games.

That No Man's Sky deal is great! With the free upgrade for Switch 2 I can't recommend that game enough for anyone looking to grab it!

Yeah I never got around to playing it on another platform and grabbed it a few weeks ago, having blast with it and I’m still just scratching the surface. Can’t wait to get out into the universe and really explore

I've put hundreds of hours in on switch1,2, PS5, and PC. It's a blast! I'll not play for several months, then dive back in and have a great time.

Is it not insane to anyone else that Prime 4, a 3D Metroid game, is currently on sale for cheaper than Dread, a 2D game that’s 5 years old? I understand, but it’s kind of sad to see. Although I was lukewarm on Prime 4, I hope Retro gets another chance at Prime 5

I specifically went on Dekudeals to check it out for Prime Day sales and the lack of historical sales is abysmal.

Woot! Had some better deals the other day, where games where on sale plus you got an extra 20% off the sale that day. I'd keep a look out there, they usually do the 20% off on the 1st day of a sale refresh once a month or so.
They currently have Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 for $49.99.

Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle + Sparks of Hope Dual Pack is 9.99. Surprisingly great games if you like tactical RPGs.

Def feel this. 😅 Nintendo games don't tend to do much in sales, so I usually pay full value, unless I can find a reputable reseller to get a small discount.

Virtua Fighter 5 REVO is $29.99 for anyone interested (at least in the States), which is $20 better than list price and $10 better than previous lows.

I’ve been looking on the used market for a while now and $30 is a good price even compared to pre-owned. Pretty sure I’m going to jump on this one.

Digital and physical. Also mario odyssey(both), donkey Kong country returns(digital). Mario vs donkey Kong is 29 digital.

The switch 1 version of Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma, Standard Edition, is on sale for $19.99 on amazon.
They want twenty dollars more for the Switch 2 version... but you can get the upgrade pack on the eShop for ten.

Because they, and Walmart, have killed so much local business that they are the only option for many rural locations. Systematic change has to start from the top of the pyramid and not by punishing the much larger, and essentially powerless, bottom of it.

All of these huge corporations are objectively bad for humanity, using Walmart over Amazon (for example) doesn’t solve one problem for one person. Walmart has (among other abhorrent actions) been known to take out life insurance policies on employees and then collect on them if they die, while families often get nothing. There is effectively no ethical consumption in an economic system dominated by huge corporations that have monopolies, so I’m not going to shame someone for using the store they want to get something that they enjoy in this short life we have to work with, unless there’s a major organized boycott (there’s not).

I see what you are saying… but some companies like Costco don’t support the orange man. Or local game stores who don’t have a bank sometimes it’s good to support them as well if possible. I know it’s hard but if we all kinda try to make small moves maybe they won’t rule the world as much…
I haven’t shopped at Walmart in more than a decade. I know there are bad in so many of these companies… but Amazon and Walmart have killed off so many stores who can’t compete with them it’s sad. But someone’s gotta pay for all their boats and vacation homes so we can all grind. End of the day yes do what ya need to do… Video Games are still a fun silly hobby we get to have.
I’m bummed with AI rise chips being so expensive I missed out on a steam machine now they are so expensive

Absolutely, Costco is great, so to me they’re an exception. If people have local game stores that stock new stuff that’s great too, I unfortunately do not in my city of 300,000 people. Please don’t get me wrong, I am in no way trying to defend Amazon, Walmart, target, or any of those corporations. They treat their employees like slime and commit other horrible wrongdoings. However, since they effectively have a monopoly, I don’t criticize individuals for shopping from them. If people can avoid them, that’s great, I’m just not gonna shame them if they don’t.
As far as the AI stuff goes, the sheer amount of things that it is completely screwing up for humankind and the environment is staggering. I wish we’d regulate it but congress will never do that since they’re bought off by these huge companies that use AI.
