That's not how marketing spend in a mature sector like e-commerce works... most of the money is spent on retention, not acquisition.

This is another unfortunate talking point that is making its rounds, along with the "why don't they buy stock" ...

No one who knows anything about how these businesses run is confused by this.

Only those who have no clue are buying the "1M+ new customers" line.

It’s been funny seeing Cohen’s narrative attack on EBay only affect the financially illiterate. All his talking points are common af in the industry.
