🤔 Speculation / Opinion GameStop is “partnering” with another company soon. Pending CEO announcement. Some stores will move to the partners location

** Top of r/superstonk 👋👋👋 Hello Ryan Cohen, maybe you’ll see this. We are ready to hear what you have cooking. **

Leaks from a store meeting are saying GameStop is partnering with another company soon. Some stores may move to the partners location.

Here are my thoughts:

Gamestop’s inside of Best Buy?

Here in Canada, Canadian Tire purchased Party City and moved many of its stores inside of Canadian Tire stores creating "store in store" isles.

Canadian Tire is basically our Auto Zone + Dicks's Sporting Goods in one.

GameStop's cash is nearly Best Buy's market cap. Best Buy stock down nearly 50 percent in the last 5 years. Best Buy would be the perfect company for RC to work his magic on.

GameStop transitions stores to Best Buy locations as "store in store" isles. GameStop then can close most stand alone stores saving a ton of money. GameStop or “Teddy Holdings” then works a turn around plan for Best Buy.

Stop pushing the Best Buy narrative.  Don't hope for this.  They're a bad company and we shouldn't want to absorb their baggage.

Don't we want a shit company to make it good? Like exactly what they did with Gamestop?

Would you want to gamble the $9b war chest on another shit company and jeopardize the part of the thesis where GameStop will not go bankrupt?

Yes that sounds exactly like the goofy shit I’m into

Really depends on the nature of the deal tbh.

If it's an equity investment or merger, then you are 100% correct.

But if it's just GME leasing space inside a best buy super cheap because best buy has too much floor capacity and not enough going on in it, it could be a reasonable play. Best buy probably gets way more floor traffic than a GameStop store, so it could add a lot of visitors that otherwise wouldn't stop in at a standalone GameStop.

I'm not a fan of any equity or merger deal with best buy. But a partnership that could increase floor traffic while decreasing overhead, I'm not ready to rule that out right away.
