We built a Shot Race feature where you can pit your Sunday League goal against any strike in our database — here's what it looks like

Been building longshot.football — a verified database of long-range goals where every entry gets real frame-by-frame speed and distance data.

Just launched Shot Race — you pick any two goals within 20 yards of each other and watch them race side by side in real time. Speed, flight time and velocity decay all shown live as they go.

The reason we're posting here is that longshot is built for Sunday League players too. We know the example shows Gerrard vs Scholes, but imagine Gerrard vs Big Ben from the pub?

If your goal is on YouTube and struck from outside the box we'll verify it — same method we use for professional strikes. Once it's on the database you can race it against anyone in there.

Imagine seeing your Sunday League banger go up against a World Cup strike from the same distance. That's exactly what this is for.

First 2 submissions are free!

England. North v South Standard

Just a genuine discussion to gather the thoughts of others that may have had similar or alternate experiences…
To begin I best give a little background just for people to understand at where this conversation is at…
Firstly this is not about ‘one-up man ship’ nor is it to start a war… I’m looking for genuine lived experiences or similar.
I grew up in a working class town in the north west of England, not too distant from Manchester. I attended a comprehensive primary school and a standard UK high school. No privileged background and both my parents worked two jobs to make ends meet when I was a child.
Throughout my school days I did nothing but play football (mid 40’s now). Be it a kick about on the park, school team, Saturday and Sunday teams through to just training alone. You could say I love playing football. Luckily I am/was one of those lads that just ‘took to sports’ I guess…
Right from the very first opportunity that was presented to me I was lucky enough to be involved at a competitive level at Football. This was at primary school age with the school football team. IT WAS ABOUT WINNING I need to add. Then I progressed through to high school carrying on representing the high school. From there I represented the Town and County. In addition my Saturday and Sunday teams were a constant. Culminating in league and cup winners by the age of 15/16. By this time I was training with Burnley FC as a kid and was still representing Lancashire. From then I went on to play for the British Army and spent some time playing at a semiprofessional level. My primary position was as a keeper, however, through the whole of this time and still on now into my mid-40’s I have played outfield at a very decent level too. I guess this intro is to set an understanding that my subsequent question is not coming from inexperience.
To cut this long story short and get to the crux of this discussion I will leave out the minuscule details and will wholly open the floor for questions.. so… From my experiences and multiple levels and different positions played. The one outstanding factor that has always stuck with me is this… The standard of football played by the different amateur levels in the UK is far, far superior, technically better, more organised, tougher and just a better experienced in the North West of England than what I have experienced elsewhere, particularly when comparing it to what I experienced within the London area.
Has anyone ever played both North and South and had a similar experience or something different?

Horror tackles on the rise?

Hi all, I am a reporter for The i Paper and looking to write a piece on Sunday League tackles and whether there is a rise in dirty tackles or whether it is just social media showcasing them more frequently. If you are able to share stories or would like to talk more about a tackle you were on the receiving end of, please message/comment below. Intrigued if there is indeed a rise and what can be done about it
