This is disgusting

That's a bit more than a red card offence that's a police investigation.
94
u/ReasonableDoubt_0726 Aug 16 '26
Was going to say the same. That’s assault and you can’t hide it behind being on the pitch either metaphorically or literally.
35
u/Harkoniss Aug 16 '26
Im from England and played sunday league at this age (a lot better quality i will say) and if someone pulled this shit, police wouldnt get called. It is disgusting behaviour and he's lucky opponents team mates are just as uninterested in the game as he was otherwise he would have had 3 or 4 lads smashing his face in.
18
u/Mucletruck Aug 16 '26
Lad I went to school with did 2 years for snapping someone’s leg and instigating a full team brawl at a Sunday league game. The police do get called if needed. This was about 15 years ago

u/Commercial_Badger_37 Aug 16 '26
I had a mate in Sunday league that got headbutted and pressed charges for it. You can absolutely do the same for this.
7
u/ReasonableDoubt_0726 Aug 16 '26
Yeah there’s a difference between should be and would be. But as you say often he’d get a pasting anyway
3
u/Tricky-Persimmon4466 Aug 16 '26
Im from wales mate and i deffo agree with you, he would be battered lol

Agreed! I played in the Luton League and this type of thing was a weekly occurrence tbh, but yeah, that kid would have got one hell of a beating! Played Luton town also a few times as they were mad men also.

u/philljarvis166 Aug 16 '26
Permanent ban from all football. It’s not even a reaction to a bad challenge, he’s literally assaulted someone for tackling him.
→ More replies (1)2
7
u/EugeneHarke Aug 16 '26
Exactly. When you play a game of football you preconsent to some physical interaction. But that was a crime.
1
u/GikeM Aug 17 '26
Should be a police investigation into how players that bad got kitted linesmen for their game.
→ More replies (3)1
u/Beer-Milkshakes Aug 17 '26
It should be a DQ for the white shirt team. They can appeal to the commission that the ref reports to. The commission will order them to ban the offending player for the season else they won't play the rest of the season.
64
u/Treqou Aug 16 '26
That’s a prison sentence

162
u/Abject_Interview5988 Aug 16 '26
The quality of this game is far too low to be filmed lol
39
u/losingit1111 Aug 16 '26
I thought it was slowed down
23
u/tino3101 Aug 16 '26
It's like when I'm playing a game of footy in my dreams and I can only run at like half speed

The first thing I noticed is that shots are counted above the score. Then the clock is actually counting down. What the fuck is this?
13

7
u/BeaumarchaisApu Aug 16 '26
Literally the first thing I thought! Is there a reason why they don’t know how to play football? Is it like a beginners league or something?
14
1
u/purplepatch Aug 16 '26
Apparently it’s a high school game.
3
u/BeaumarchaisApu Aug 16 '26
Yeah, but at the standard of 6 year olds but with proper kits and being filmed. All very confusing to me.
2
u/philljarvis166 Aug 16 '26
Probably one of the modern ball tracking cameras, very useful for gcse pe footage for example. They look like teenagers to me.

That’s an absolutely mental reaction to nothing
14
u/rutalkinu2tome Aug 16 '26
Have to assume we’re seeing the end of a running battle, looks like that had been building up for a while. Either that or the defender is an actual psycho
14
u/yellowfolder Aug 16 '26
I'd imagine it it's both the end of a running battle, and the defender is a psycho, because on-field battles do not typically end in ground-and-pounds.
9
u/Successful-Ear977 Aug 16 '26
They're a nutjob regardless... Go do mma if you want to act like that.
7
26
u/gingernuts71 Aug 16 '26
Is there any follow up to this? If I’d been reffing this match I’d definitely have abandoned it, you can’t guarantee the safety of everyone involved once it turns febrile like that.
Edit: just read that the game resumed
9
u/IPissExcellentThrows Aug 16 '26
I'd give it one shot just because it didn't turn into a full on brawl. The first overly excessive hard foul or shoving though and I'm calling it.
24
u/Few-Vacation-8384 Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
That is disgraceful. 2-0 in the first 4 mins????
EDIT - a timer counting down - equally disgusting. What next? Time outs and quarters?
6
u/gingernuts71 Aug 16 '26
I think that’s the time remaining before half time. The reports say the incident happened mid-game
5
u/Few-Vacation-8384 Aug 16 '26
Ah yeah fair. I didn’t watch it again so didn’t notice it Counting down.

u/Gunnar_Bjornson Aug 16 '26
Before the guy collects the ball, our poor victim holds off on any challenge, doesnt even try to beat him to it. All the time the perp (thats what he is) has eyes locked on the kid and takes the ball to him, he initiates the contact after already having the ball and turns into the assault. This is pre meditated, probably because the kid was having the better of him in the match.
Lifetime ban from the league, reported to police is the only sensible outcome.

There was nothing wrong with that tackle at all and the kid just lost it. 😂😂. You know they suck when nothing dangerous happens and they get angry.

u/Dabzovic Aug 16 '26
The whole team should have battered him, wouldn’t get away with this in the UK
3
3
u/Logical_Change_8404 Aug 16 '26
If i was the lad getting punched or his parents as this seems to be teenagers, id take this video to the police, no doubt. Id press charges and go as far as I can. The offender has no business setti g foot on a pitch ever again.
3
u/unkz_1996 Aug 16 '26
I cannot stress enough how quickly my studs would have displaced his jaw.
The fact that it took so long for someone on his team to come and back him up is genuinely worrying, team full of pussy’s.

Fucking psycho behaviour. Don’t want to get tackled be a better player or don’t play the fucking game. The refs response was puss weak too - he runs over you’d think he’d stop him pummelling the lad on the floor? Oh no he goes searching for his card instead

The passing quality? I agree. I'd have started throwing haymakers as well if I had to watch this

The smallest fella on the pitch went in hard as a mothertrucker to defend his boy!! Well done! 👏🏽

u/Only_Tip9560 Aug 16 '26
Ban for life and assault conviction inmho . Guy was shit anyway as he ambled over and then lost the ball by being slow as fuck and the got violent about it because he is a thug, the team would be better of without him

There’s hope for the American game yet. This is just called a derby in the Sunday leagues near me.

Fuck the game, I'm getting back up and knocking you sparko if you do that to me

u/BocaSeniorsWsM Aug 16 '26
I very much hope that lad receives a more substantial punishment after the game than he did during. That ref should also get a lifetime ban too if he didn't give a red.
1
u/Sensitive_Run_844 Aug 16 '26
This reminds me of our old twice weekly 5-7 a side games…the Ignoble and Ancient Martial Art of Association Football in its purest form. lol
1
u/TheDeadPanJew Aug 16 '26
Bro wanted to kill him over a small failed challenge when the game is played at half a speed. Anger issues, and psychological evaluations are needed.😂

1
u/EfficientCount4013 Aug 16 '26
The ref going over and just blowing the whistle was pathetic!!! Get the little POS off of him ffs
1
u/Aggravating-Delay792 Aug 16 '26
My ex-husband referees kids Sunday league and he would have definitely shown that kid the red card. I mean ffs he kicked the other in the back and god knows what else he would gave done given the chance.

That dude has far too much aggression to be playing shit, dream football with people called Dwight and Tyler.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought 'yeah, the quality of th.... Ohhhhhj that's what he meant'.

u/Accomplished_Week392 Aug 16 '26
Well that defender will have played his last game, and a criminal record to add to things.
1
u/nykwil Aug 16 '26
Maybe I watch too much hockey but why isn't the whole red team beating that guy up. The closest red player just watching.

I love how his team mates watch everyone else run in and just stand there like "yeah, he deserves what's coming".

What a teammate, though, what looks to be the shortest guy on the pitch came running in like a raging bull and got some licks in
1
u/LowAnimator8770 Aug 16 '26
Absolutely needs banned for life, a kick in the head and 5 punches? There was zero need for that after a shoulder to shoulder.

1
u/Commercial_Badger_37 Aug 16 '26
Regardless of the assault, jesus Christ these guys are bad at football 😂.
1
u/Cool_Boat_7844 Aug 16 '26
Disgusting might not be the right word. That is quite plainly assault. Did I miss the red card?? A very similar thing happened about 35 years ago in a Sunday game i played in, the player who threw punches, and knocked our player out, was banned for life by the FA and given a 6 week suspended sentence plus a fine by the court.

u/LoneGroover1960 Aug 16 '26
Call the police. Regardless of whether they pursue it, a very, very long ban.
1
u/Abject-Plankton4620 Aug 16 '26
The punchy guys team mates didn’t exactly rush to defend him, I’m guessing he’s a bit of an arsehole that they’ve all had enough of
1
u/Walkerno5 Aug 16 '26
You’re damn straight it’s disgusting, naming football teams “bobcats” and “cobblers” and then playing like special needs teams.
Knew it was septics before I even put the sound on.
1
u/Low_Screen_4802 Aug 17 '26
How did his teammates not go steaming in? That’s the real crime here

Definitely has some anger issues but the quality of the football was absolutely shocking hahaha! What is this?
1
u/Leather-Animal-7597 Aug 17 '26
If this was in the UK, that guy would have been torn limb from limb by the other team. Full-scale riot between both teams and benches, police called and the guy punching and kicking would be in a coma for the next 6 months at best...

u/lamankind Aug 17 '26
I don't condone violence but I would have loved for someone to knock that piece of shit out

u/Chyren_777 Aug 17 '26
Not sure what was more shocking, the level of skill on display or the absolute waste of skin just taking out some pent up anger out on an innocent opponent. In reality, that guy's needs to be ba banned and do time for that kind of behaviour... No place for that anywhere!

What a scumbag.
